I can see Ruto or Midna being well for a short-lived fling, but I don't see the potential for a long-term relationship between them.
This would be true of anyone he married, not just these two. Remember, Link spent the first ten or so years of his life in Kokiri Forest, where he barely knew anything at all about the outside world. To someone in his situation, any culture he finds himself in is going to seem completely alien to him. Even if he chose Zelda or Malon, he would feel just as out of place and as if he chose Ruto (once again, Midna is irrelevant here). If Link were to fall in love with any one of them, he would have to work hard to learn the ways of their society. Also, as long as we’re on the subject, considering that the Hylians seem to have the most advanced and complicated way of life of all the races, I think Zelda would cause the most problems for Link, as far as adjusting to her way of Life.
