Re: LEA's Personal Character List

Sileya Risali

Name: Sileya Risali (See-LAY-ah Ree-SAH-Lee)

Gender: Female

Race: Elf

Age: 758

Height: 5’9”

Weight: 137 lbs.

Hair color: Pure silver

Eye color: Emerald green

Weapons:

Drageziel: Drageziel is a large and deadly broadsword that has been passed down in Sileya’s family since the moment of its creation. It was a gift to her ancestors from the ancient dragon bladesmiths. Its hilt is entwined with twin silver dragons, their wings outstretched to form the crosstrees at the top of the hilt. Emeralds are set where the dragons’ eyes should be. Their tails encircle the ruby set in the broadsword’s pommel. Ancient and sacred Dragonrunes tattoo the silvery blade itself, granting strength and the power of the elements to the wielder of the blade. In a battle with Oni, the god of darkness, the Eight Greater Elemental Dragons granted her the gift of being able to channel the elements without touching Drageziel, eliminating her one major weakness. The broadsword has the ability to shift into two other weapon types.

Laris: This yew longbow is supple and strung with white horse hair. The wood is stained a dark brown and has Drageziel’s Dragonrunes snaking along its length in silvery patterns. The grip in the center of the bow is black leather. Through the power of the Dragons, Sileya can shoot elementally charged arrows at her opponents.

Hathima: This double-edged glaive is large but, like Drageziel, is lightweight in Sileya’s hands. She usually prefers her broadsword over Hathima, but sometimes the situation calls for an even larger weapon.

Skills/Magic:

Elemental Manipulation: Sileya’s connection to the Dragons enables her to harness the power of the eight elements. Since her magic is derived primarily from the Dragons and not from her own body, the Dragon of the particular element must be ethereally manifest for her to use that element to attack. When Sileya is attacking via her draconic magic, the Dragons do not manifest in their normally large, solid forms. Typically, they are much smaller, usually wrapping around her arms, though they don’t always restrict themselves to that area of her body. Sileya’s magic originates directly from these manifestations of her Dragons rather than any part of her body (i.e. fire doesn’t fly directly from her fingertips but rather would fly from the mouth of diminutive Pyria).

Summoning: Sileya has the ability to summon the Eight Greater Elemental Dragons that are bound to Drageziel. The Dragons can only be summoned if she has enough strength to do so, since the Dragons require their summoner’s lifeforce to give them physical form. They also have a limited time after being summoned before they revert back to their spirit forms and become sealed within Drageziel once again. Sileya is capable of summoning multiple Dragons at once; however, the greater the number of Dragons, the more time required to perform the summoning and the greater the amount of lifeforce drained from Sileya. She has never attempted to summon all eight at once.

The Dragons each have a unique, powerful attack they can use. However, once they use it, they automatically return to their spirit forms.

Armor: None

Strengths:

Sileya’s main strength is her skill with her broadsword. Over the years, she has developed this skill quite a bit and is a formidable opponent in battle. In the past, she had relied very heavily on her skill with Drageziel, but more recently she has honed her ability to balance physical attacking power with her draconic magic and summoning.

Being an Elf, Sileya’s eyesight is incredibly keen. This enhanced sense aids her greatly when she uses Laris, as she is able to hit targets from distances much farther away than humans or most other Elves could. The new addition of Laris to her arsenal gives Sileya a much-needed long range attack that does not necessarily have to drain her energy.

Weaknesses:

Sileya is not afraid to unleash her sharp tongue on her opponents in the form of boasts and taunts, and while she can usually back her comments up with her skill, this can on occasion come back to haunt her. Her overconfidence in her own abilities sometimes causes her to overlook her surroundings. Because she does not take battle as seriously as she probably should, she will often enter a conflict without proper preparation and do rash things as a result. Her overprotective nature toward her close friends also contributes to rash behavior in battle.

Appearance:

Sileya’s sea of silky, silver hair falls in a soft, subtle wave to her shoulder blades. She has a smooth, ageless countenance with high cheekbones and a narrow jaw line. Her nose is small and unobtrusive, and she has a rosebud mouth with moderately full lips. One of her most striking facial features are her large emerald eyes framed by well-groomed, silver eyebrows. Her pointed Elven ears are long and poke out gracefully from her silvery locks.

Her body is all muscle and sinew, though she has a tall, slender frame, and her skin is smooth and pleasantly ivory. Her feet are small and dainty and clad in black boots that lace up on the outside. These boots go all the way up to her knees and are crowned with about three inches of intricate black lace that covers her lower thighs. She wears white tights underneath her boots to avoid over-exposing her skin. Her body proper is clothed in a tight halter jumpsuit dress with a peep hole exposing a tiny bit of her cleavage. There is a large sapphire on the dress at her throat from which two pieces of burgundy ribbon hang down.

The dress itself is black and covered with intricate silver patterns, some of them draconic in origin. Over this dress, Sileya wears a large, flowing black overcoat—also with silver patterns at its hem and sleeves—with short sleeves to expose the matching black-and-silver gauntlets on her arms. The coat is bound around her slender waist by a silver belt resembling dragon scales. Drageziel is always in its black, silver-decorated sheath on her back.

Personality:

Sileya considers herself a free spirit. She is friendly and outgoing, not shying away from meeting new people. Though she doesn’t form many deep friendships with others, she has many cordial surface relationships. She is a fierce defender of her friends. Should one of them be threatened, Sileya will do everything in her power to help him or her.

As far as love is concerned, she has not given much thought to seeking out a new love interest ever since her experience with Vahn. She is not the most flirtatious person, though if someone expresses some interest in her, she will generally respond with some polite return flirting. Of course, that depends on whether she is in the mood for any flirting at all. She does not expose her deepest thoughts and feelings to just anyone, however, so forming another serious romantic relationship proves difficult for her.

Sileya thinks of battle as a game and has no trouble causing damage to her opponents. She can think on her feet in most any situation, but if the situation is bad enough, her temper can sometimes get the better of her. As she has grown and matured, though, she has calmed her disposition somewhat, and she exhibits a quiet wisdom which those who meet her quickly come to respect.

Bio:

Sileya is the younger of two children born to the rulers of the Elven Realms of Valina. Her older sister, Alys, was next in line to assume the throne, but when she ran away one night to escape the frivolous duties of court, following the Elf, Valthanis, to seek the lands beyond the Elven Realms, Sileya’s parents disowned Alys and instated Sileya as the new heir to the throne. She was immediately instructed to study harder in her schooling, learning such things as the history of the Elven Realms and the differing dialects that were represented among the people of the lands.

Sileya severely disliked being cooped up studying, and her most enjoyable part of her day was when she was allowed outside the palace grounds to ride around the countryside. She would seek her special spot, a secluded glen in the nearby forest, where she would train herself in the art of swordsmanship. With nothing to practice against, she could only teach herself so much, so she also took to simply lying on her back against the trees and daydreaming about faraway places and the adventures she could be having there.

One fateful night, Sileya’s wish to be free of her duties to the crown was granted. An army of unidentifiable, hellish creatures assailed the walls of the palace. Amid the chaos created by the attack, Sileya determined that she would help defend her home, but she needed a weapon. Stealing into her parents’ bedchamber, she discovered a secret passageway into a room she had never been privy to. There, she first laid eyes on the Drageziel, that wondrous weapon granted as a gift to the royal family of Valina by the ancient dragon bladesmiths. Her eyes shone as she grasped it, and her fate was sealed.

In the ensuing battle to fight off the hideous creatures, Sileya became lost in the dark and inadvertently wandered away from the royal palace and deep into the forest. When she realized what she had done, she decided to forget about returning to her home. After all, she had wanted this chance to escape the life of royalty. So the Elf continued on, leaving her old life behind, and she would never be the same.

In her travels, she learned much, including the fact that her new weapon allowed her to harness the magic of the elements by touching it. She met many foes, and with every one she met in combat, she bettered her level of skill with Drageziel. And it was that fateful battle with Oni that granted her the use of the elements without having to be in contact with her weapon, as well as alerting her to the presences of the spirits of the Greater Elemental Dragons sealed inside her sword, now at her beck and call. She forged a close relationship with the Dragons, and they in turn respected, some even loved, her in return.

Also, among the many people she met along her travels was a Drow named Vahn. The two started out as partners in battle and then grew into traveling companions. Soon after that, the two fell in love, but circumstances and fate saw fit to ruin the relationship. Vahn was a member of a particularly secretive tribe of Drow who worshipped a dragon god, and through this connection, a Drow belonging to this tribe had the ability to achieve the Dark Dragon transformation, as they called it. Drow also have an inherent dementia inside them just waiting to be unlocked.

One fateful day, Vahn went insane and no longer recognized his love, Sileya. For a while, she was able to hold him off with only minor difficulty, but when he underwent the Dark Dragon transformation, he became a considerable threat to her life. Therefore, she had no choice but to summon Lithiuan to destroy him. Since then, Sileya has always had a difficult time agreeing to even start relationships of that nature with anyone. Her grief and self-imposed guilt over the incident stays constantly with her in the back of her mind.

In time, Sileya came upon a place called the Dome, where she became a teacher for a short amount of time. During her brief stay there, she managed to form somewhat of a bond between a few of her students. Sudden, unexplainable reasons forced her to retire her position as a teacher, and she has now re-embraced her life as a wanderer, constantly seeking ways to improve herself. The Dragons recently taught her to unlock Drageziel’s latent ability to morph shape, since she has grown considerably in her own power. For some odd reason, however, they have been reluctant to let Sileya summon them into physical form lately, but they refuse to tell her the reason.
