Assignment 16: Strange Occurence

Wisp looked at the building from across the river, and saw a couple of rocks jutting out of the rushing water’s surface. They looked flat enough to cross, but then again, the shapeshifter can make her own path across it. She leapt up into the air, and hopped from pole to pole using Sky Pillar. Once she felt safe with the height, which was five feet off the ground, she shifted the pole into the plank version and walked across the river. The rabbit girl kept her eyes on the river, in case of predators. Ever since I saw that snake in Zorlo’s room, I need to be cautious. I have no clue what lives here, if anything else does.

After a while, she hopped down to the opposite shoreline. The worn, stone building was a lot bigger than when she first saw it. The scars from the rainwater, which were large gashes in the rock, on the roof looked as if the building was here many years at least. The walls of the building were bumpy in a way, as if it was made by breaking of large chunks of rock and just placing them together. The claw marks were imbedded into the walls along the entrance, the creature that made them had to be really strong.

Something about the building seemed to peak her curiosity, but she was still wary of it. The teal-clad female looked down and saw slightly bowed steps leading into the darkness inside of the stone building. She slowly walked down the stairs, holding her arms out a bit to keep her balance. After eleven steps down, she came to a dimly lit room, and saw what appeared to be a doorway. As she walked towards it the air began to cool down slightly. The shapeshifter shrugged it off and stepped through the threshold.

Wisp could barely see her hand in front of her face now, but something kept nudging at her to continue forwards. A crashing sound caused her to fire off an Air Shot in the direction of the sound. The rabbit girl heard it impact off to her right, but nothing stirred. Her ears perked up now, and kept swiveling around. The darkness was causing her eyes to hurt now. She blinked for a moment, then was able to see a bit more in the room, but not enough to help her.

The shapeshifter started to walk in the direction she was facing, and wandered into a new room entirely. This room had one torch, which looked as if it would burn out at any moment. It didn’t give off much light, but it was enough for her to see a little better with. When she turned around, she realized that the door way had vanished! Ok, where did the door go? Hearing a sound behind her, the teal-clad turned back to see that the torch had disappeared as well, replaced with another doorway. “Am I going in circles now?!” She held her head for a moment as a dizzy spell had grabbed her.

As she entered the room, it got a lot colder. Wisp nearly growled at herself, “I forgot my jacket. Great…just great.” A strange breeze picked up and blew past her, as it hit the wall, a familiar door formed. The door was made out of blue ice, it was Zachary’s door. “Oh great, now I really need my jacket… too late to go back now though.” The shapeshifter reluctantly opened the door to her teacher’s room, and headed inside.

Zachary’s room had a gentle snowfall, but it didn’t help the rabbit girl any. She slowly took a couple of breaths, At least moving will keep me warm, a little. The teal-clad female looked around the room and saw footprints in the snow. She was slightly shivering now, but she had to continue. The footprints lead in the same direction she was facing, the novice air and shadow user hopped up onto a plank and followed it. This time the tracks did not lead uphill, but into a valley of some kind. The snowfall began to thicken and cover the tracks a bit, but she kept going.

Wisp could feel how cold it was, but ignored it to the best of her ability. Her light tan skin on her arms was starting to pale. The dizzy spell hit her again, but refused to budge now. The snowfall seemed to aid the ‘spinning room’ type of effect, but the rabbit girl did not move. It left again, What is causing that to happen anyway? In the distance, fog was starting to roll in.

As the shapeshifter got closer, she could see someone, just barely in the fog-like mist. I hope that’s Zachary. She shuddered a bit, but ignored it again.
