In our school, the majority of the funds are going towards the regular education classes and vocational/technical electives and classes. That particular area is also being glorified in school. Meanwhile, they've cut back on the funding for AP/Honors classes. Teachers that are sponsoring Decathlon, Mock Trial, and all of the other clubs that most of the "advanced" students join are having to pull money out of their own pockets to be able to sponsor us.
I was flunking honors biology because of a personal crisis, and then I was considering switching back to regular ed. My biology teacher stopped me and told me to not listen to the counselor, and she said the counselor's job was to make sure everyone graduates, so they have completely lowered their standards, allowing everyone to do so.
For example, Georgia has these EOCT (End Of Course Tests) things. Some people do fail them, which is sad. You are given 60 minutes to complete about 40 questions, and you must make at least a 70 to pass.
I probably spent no more than 10-15 minutes on the test, and I made a 94 on it, and I didn't really try. Then my biology teacher talked to the entire class about it, and then she told us to not worry about it because the entire test was a joke to the gifted students.
Now, about Tennessee, which is about a three mile drive/run/walk away from me. They've disrupted the natural order by doing this...they'll pay for it in the near future.

Isn't that more an issue with standardized tests than private school students getting shafted?
