The Fire and Ice Arrows are pretty good actually. The Fire Arrows are powerful, able to kill a flying Mothula in one hit, and the Ice Arrows are even stronger. Try freezing the boss Wizzrobe in the Wind Temple. Then pick him up and throw him. It'll be the last you ever see of him.
