The best thing to do is to strip the PC down to the core components.
You should only need:

Power Supply
Motherboard
CPU
One Stick of RAM

Plug your monitor into the onboard video and that should work.
Otherwise slot in your 8800GT and plug your cable into that.

But the onboard should work.
