Re: How could Sheik have fitted into TP?
Sheik was probably designed for the heck of it. While Sheik might have been a separate character, I'm not sure what would happen to the plot. If Zelda, I don't see much of a function other than possibly attacking Zant at the beginning (and failing) or in the horseback section of the final battle.
