Er, I think, perhaps, you don't mean robots the way everyone else does.


The term "Robot" comes from a Czechoslovakian word for...slave, I think it was. Anyways, it currently means any electrical and mechanical device that performs a task. (There's probably a better definition, but that's not a bad one.)

So, factories have used robots for decades, remote-controlled ones are used for all sorts of things, etc.


I suspect what you (the OP) means by "robot" is something like Isaac Asimov's ones, self-aware, intelligent, and sapient. Those currently do not exist.
