Yeah, I don't know actually. Maybe the devs just wanted to try something new. The different colours are the different tunics that you get. 1st=All green, 2nd=Yellow hat and blue tunic, 3rd=Purple hat and red tunic.
I don't really like it either. I liked the OoT tunics better. But the game itself is completely worth buying and playing. Good luck with that.
