Well, one thing to try is this:

Get a very slightly damp lint-free cloth (not dry, but not dripping, either.) and very carefully rub it on the disc. Start at the centre and go in a straight-line towards the edge. Do Not clean in a circular pattern.

After you've done this let the disc dry (it shouldn't need long. If it does then you've used too much water.) then try playing it.

After all, there's always a chance that your disc has smudges that are causing the problem, instead of scratches.
