If I remember correctly, which i may not so I may be wrong, didn't Navi after being blown back go even farther forward?

In TP it protects Link from the changing power of the Twilight Realm.
acctually that was the Master sword that did that. Link had the Triforce since the very begining of the game, and didn't stop transforming until he got the Master Sword.

EDIT: the ToC did stop Link from transforming into a flame if that's what you ment. but it didn't protect him from all the changing power.

In TWW it grants him access to Hyrule again.

In AoL's backstory it causes disaster when its wielder doesn't possess certain qualities.

In all the games it's necessary to complete the Triforce and thus get a wish.

From all this, it seems that it protects its wielder from various things, and the Goddesses seem to acknowledge its wielder as a worthy hero.
All those I agree with.

I don't really know what the ToC does. I used to think it gave him courage, but it has been said that he needs that quality to get the ToC. I don't think it does anything exept give Link a higher chance of living. The ToP doesn't really do anything (as far as I can remember) exept when Ganondorf is dying/dead. I belive that the toc and tow would just do the same thing, and give them a little extra life when they need it.
