Just having a better program wont instantly make you a fantastic signature maker. There are people using programs like GIMP who make signatures that are equally good as those in Photoshop, and just picking up Photoshop or GIMP isn't what makes you awesome. It takes practice, and a good understanding of the things that make up a decent signature.
You wont just pick up Photoshop and become better instantly. It's taken me a long time to get to where I am today.
