That is one point of the bible that vexes me greatly. It's so strange, to me, that things have changed so; or at least how we perceive it to change. This is a pivotal idea: does God change his/her/it's mind? If so, does that mean that God is not the infallible deity he/she/it is supposed to be? This only further stimulates my thoughts on a more familiar essence of spirit, and not some ethereal stranger, distant and foreign.
If it be true that this divine right can change like the seasons, then perhaps he/she/it isn't truly omnipotent or omniscient. Or, perhaps, we just can't even fathom the depth of the matter.
I, too, have this love for unstructured religion. A melting pot of ideas, and dreams, is so much more tangible to me than a written text book of rules. Rule-books are for games; none can be written for celestial matters, least of all by us.
