Eh, she wasn't bad at the serious parts.
It's when she was trying to be funny that it got annoying.
Also: I suspect that there's going to be a running gag about the Doctor and her being confused as husband/wife. It was in this one, and the preview for the next one showed that it happens there, too.
Oh, and anyone taking bets that
Spoiler (Highlight to read):
Rose's return is going to directly cause (or, in fact be) the crisis for the series finale? I mean, she appeared in the first episode, and one of the seers says to the Dr. "She has returned." (Or something like that). Given the show's habit of dropping not-so-subtle hints about the finale...
Edit: As for what Dr. Who is, well, yeah, it's the longest running Sci-Fi show on television.
However, in the mid-80s it got put on hiatus due to failing ratings.
Three years ago it was revived and re-imagined as a bit more serious than it had been in the past.
Anyways, the plot is essentially this: The Doctor is an alien (a "Time lord") who has a spaceship (the TARDIS) that can teleport through time and space. However, it looks like a phone booth due to a malfunction. (Well, a police box, but same idea.)
Anyways, he travels through time with human companions and saves the universe and so on. It's an excellent show with a nice blend of fun and serious moments.
