Dawud Abdisua
Name: Dawud Abdisua
Age: 21
Race: Human
Sex: Male
Hair: Thick Dark Hair
Eyes: Dark Olive ()_();
Weight: 195lbs (88.5 kg)
Height: 5'9” (175cm)
Weapon: Scimitar—Simple hilt made of brass...
...can use many things to create chemical compounds which
are “potentially dangerous and may cause personal injury or
death.” :0P'
Armor: Cleat-like boots, thick leather belt upon which hangs some smaller
oddments, breastplate of some light material, light helm, a shield which is
made of a super-compressed wood—unburnable.
Strengths: Has a firm faith in God and God's ability to guide him.
Weakness: Can become spiritually arrogant, making him lose sight of his
purpose.
Skills/Magic: Praying deeply restores his strength, and quoting Scripture brings
him guidance.
Personality: This fellow is NOT your ordinary fighter. He is confident, yet not self-
confident...has some store of wisdom yet does not rely on his own
wisdom most—but rather what he has learned from the Scriptures.
Sometimes cares a bit too much about his opponent's well-being for
his own good, but this is a trait—and can be both a strength AND a
weakness.
Appearance: Dawud wears the scimitar by his side, usually concealed beneath his
simple blue cloak. He is a no-frills kind of guy, is dark skinned (being
of Arab descent), has a close-trimmed, black beard, and is of a goodly
build—being neither slim nor overly built.
History: Born the third son in a family of seven (four girls were born before him),
Dawud had grown accustomed to the way of a Muslim. At the age of 15,
he contracted a disease which, by the time he turned 17, had crippled the
entire left side of his body. He neither believed that he would live another
year nor did he desire to...not in that condition. He cried out to God to
restore him, so that he might be able to serve Him better...and actually LIVE a life... The best
physicians were sought to bring him back to health, but nothing could be
done for him. He went to Maccah and AlKhabba within two months of his 17th
birthday, and cried out to God in his heart for freedom from the bonds of this bodily death...but to no avail. His family sacrificed to God ... and prayed diligently ... but..nothing.. nothing happened.
After returning from Maccah, a few more months went by, and he was drawn to read AlQuran more and more—to gain some comfort from the wisdom of the words
contained therein. He read about Ibrahim (PBUH) and he read about Mohammed (PBUH). And then...he read about the blind, the deaf, the sick, and the crippled...the lame, just as he was, ...being healed. And by whom? By this Jew named Jesus. A prophet, in truth, so PBUH.
Indeed, the love this one Jew showed to those he went to, by healing all who were in need who had the faith to be healed...that love was unmistakable. Dawud knew that God loved him—how could he not? He felt his love in all that he had formerly done.
Soon, reading and rereading what AlQuran said about this Yeshua, this Jesus (PBUH), Dawud realized that these miracles were demonstrations of God's love! Would God heal him, also? He had tried doctors, he had tried the Holy Pilgrimage...but...had he tried Jesus (PBUH)? NO! And why hadn't he?? It seemed so logical to him, that this same Jesus (PBUH) whom God had given the power to heal, could also (being in Jannah, being in Heaven—as the Quran testiphied) heal him!
That night, in secret, Dawud called out to God, and then asked Him to let him speak to this ascended Jewish prophet, Jesus (PBUH). Was it wrong for him to do this? That's what he wondered, and feared, but how could it be wrong to seek God's love? Surely, there was no sin in this..?
Desperate for healing, Dawud continued to ask of Jesus (PBUH), through God, for healing.
Then, he went to sleep.
That night, he had a dream. His whole field of vision was darkness, but then, in the distance, a light began to grow. As it drew nearer, he realized that it was the image of a man, coming quickly to him! At length, the man who shown like polished brass and whose eyes were like burning coals of fire spoke to him.
“Dawud. Dawud.”
Dawud answered hesitantly, “Here I am, sir.” He could not help but bow his crippled body down further to the floor of this dream-area.
“Dawud, my son, I am Jesus, whom you called for healing from. You have read of me, of all that I did for those who were in need. Beloved, arise!”
Dawud was too stunned to speak or stir.
“ARISE! Your faith has made you well! Your sins be forgiven you!! Rise up, and WALK!”
And Dawud, with the faith of a little child, and tears now pouring from his eyes, began to rise up, and strength was in his limbs, and blood coursed hot and red through his veins and he was fully restored—indeed, stronger than he had ever realized he would have been!
“MASTER!!!” Dawud cried out, and fell once more at the feet of this Jesus, who had healed him.
And Jesus, laying his hand upon his head, prayed a prayer of thanksgiving to God for him, and then spoke clearly to Dawud:
“Friend, do not lay there any longer. In your strength you will serve me, and from your weakness will come forth a greater strength and submission. For know this, that today you have seen God. For to know me is to know my Father. Now, GO! I send you as a firebrand unto the nations!! There is a time for peace and a time for war. The time has come for a reckoning on the earth. All who hear your words—which will come from me—and believe, shall be saved. But those who cast off my words which I will give you, shall be cast out themselves into utter darkness, where there will be weeping and gnashing of teeth. And lo, I am with you always—even unto the end of the age.”
...
And from that day forward, Dawud Abdisua went about the earth, seeking those who would hear the good news, and defending himself against all his adversaries--fighting the good fight of faith.
