I'm a bit agnostic myself I suppose. I believe that there is some sort of greater being... but nothing like the God(s) depicted by any major religion I've heard.

"God" to me is more than just a "thing" it cannot be described as being one or many, it is not good or bad, it cannot feel emotions, human ones at least, but yet some indeterminable force is there.

As for your theory... I found it interesting, and there's no less actual proof for it than there is for a God truly existing. That's the fun thing about religion I suppose, there are no limits to what you can believe in.

That's what I don't like about the God of the Bible, or most other major religions. It makes him seem, well, not particularly loving. I find it hard to believe a truly loving God would seek vengeance against those who dare to live a life without believing in him.
