Here's a thought, Ganon has no idea he's going to fight a so called "hero of time" any time soon. So he just said the heck with it and spent his sentance watching the bube tube. Then when he finally gets free he finds out all there is to rule is an endless ocean! "Ah...the sun...the surf, who cares about some crappy ten year old twerp, I'll finish him off while I work on my tan. And drink out of my coconut cup."
