Re: MacroMatter

In my dreams I stand before every event. As an unknown force. Watching.

Chapter 2: Lost, but not dead.

May 23rd, 2340 USA
Time: 23:55

“We need Cameron in here now!” said the general to the seargent. “Yes I understand, sir.” said the Sargent. “No! You don't understand Malik!” said the General. “He's the only one who can do this job! We need him! If we don't have him, this mission is RUINED!” The Sargent stopped in his tracks and turned quickly around and looked out the window into the milky way. He then looked down onto earth. So beautiful in may. “Do you think I do not understand general? Is that what you're implying? That I don't know what I'm doing, after I've been doing what I've been doing for 20 years?!” The general looked at him. “Well... Err... Guess you're right... Lets go... But,” said the general, “Get that boy in this lab pronto, or I'll send someone else... You know how Jack hates losing all of the glory...” The sergeant did not miss a beat when he said “I understand” once more. “Good” said the General. “Lets go check to see if everything's in order!”

They walked into a big room. It spanned about a quarter of a mile in diameter. Chrome plating on the walls, floors, and ceilings. The general stepped in and the Sargent said “ATTEEEEN-HUT!” all the scientists and soldiers stood at attention. “At ease.” said the General. He and the Sargent walked to each station and checked them. They all checked out OK.

“Where is he?” The General growled at the Sargent. “I don't know...” said the seargent sadly. The general paced around, thinking hard.

“Get the boy.”
“What boy?”
“The boy we saved for if Jack never arrived”
“Yes Sir.”

The seargent yelled out “RICKY! GET OUT HERE!” A middle sized boy came running out. About 18 years old. Maybe older. “Yes sir?” said the boy. The General looked at him, then held out his hand. The boy looked shocked and shook the General's hand. “Very nice to meet you uh, Ricky is it?” The boy nodded his head and said “Yeah, that's right.” The General smiled.

“Well, you see that over there?”
“The Quantum Matter Teleporter?”
“That's right, son.”
“Are we trying humans?”
“No we tried, we are just going to send you to another part of the lab! See how you feel when you get there!”
“O-okay...” He said. Then he went over and grabbed his pressure suit. The rides on these things are bumpy, so they have to keep a suit on just in case they transport outside the space station, and they suck them back in before oxygen runs out. The General walked to the kid and asked him “Hey, have you heard of Macro Matter?” the boy froze. He turned around and looked at the General in shock. “You mean matter that is made unconditionally by events unknown and without any atoms or particles?”

“That's it! So, maybe when you get back from your trip you can help me find some? Heck, I've seen you work. You have a good eye for things”
“Hah, you think so?”
“Sure!”
The General looked at his watch.
“Whoops! 23:58! We have to get going!” The General waved the boy into the teleporter.

The scientists waved a “See you later” bye and then started up the process.

“Particle excellorators on.”
“Pulse beams operational.”
“Flux inhibitors activated.”
“Suit GPS system for subject 'Ricky Malso' powered up”

“Right, count down General?” said the Sargent to the General. “Oh yes!” said the General.

“10”
“9”
“8” Ricky didn't look alright. Like he was getting sick.
“7”
“6”
“5” He looked green now, but gave the thumbs up that he was ok.
“4”
“3”
“2”
“1” Ricky started shaking.

He started fading in and out of existence. His GPS system started saying “Lost” then “In range” then “Dead” then “Active” then all other messages.

“What's going on?!” yelled the General. “I don't know!” said a scientist.

“He is fading in and out! We can't stop it!”
“Abort! ABORT!”
“I can't! He's showing chemical readings off the scales! Some known as 'Unknown' 'Que 3486' and others we haven't seen in a long time!”
“GET HIM OUT! I WANT THAT BOY BACK HERE!”

Ricky was gone. No sign of him was left. GPS showed him as “Lost.”

“Where, the HELL, is he?!” yelled the General.

“I don't know!” said one of the scientists.
“The computers say that he never was here!”
“Then...” said the General. “Where is he...”

“Save the coordinates.” said the Sargent.
“Why?!” said the General”
“Because the machine registered him a 'Lost'. It didn't register him as 'Dead'” said the Sargent Blankly.

Within the new Universe. The new body fell into the landmass and shattered from the speed. All that was left was a name tag that said “Ricky Malso, Second Hand Subject. Age: 18 ˝”
