^ How can he be ten if the game shows him as aged seven years? It's not possible to suddenly turn two yeares older in a matter of minutes or hours.

Now that you have mentioned it, maybe he started having those 'Ganondorf encountered' dreams with Shiek and Zelda on the horse running away when he was aged seven and didn't meet Navi and start the adventure until he was ten years old.
