oh jesus... false. zelda II had all of that.
and just because they removed magic from one game (i'm not counting handhelds here, since they never had magic), that doesn't necessarily mean it won't be brought back in the future.
personally i would be okay with it; i doubt nintendo would try selling us a poor game with the zelda license on it (they've surely learned from that mistake by now). it would absolutely be entertaining, and dare i say refreshing
however, comparing zelda to mario is not a good idea... the style of mario lends itself easily to more lighthearted gaming, which is how the RPGs were able to garner such success. both the "mario and luigi" and "paper mario" series utilize humor and whimsicality to a great extent, whereas zelda would not be able to do so effectively, in my opinion. that's not to say it would be impossible to have a zelda rpg, though... i think it's feasible
