That's really the only stand-out thing about what is otherwise a rather good game idea, you've gone into plenty of detail and even tried to fit it into the timeline, which I applaud you for.

Well, it would have other effects; smaller trees would die, the water shortage might cause famine among Hylians, and the rising temperature would provide particularly nice conditions for monsters to thrive in. It wouldn't directly kill anyone, but it would have consequences. If they can have a falling moon that doesn't affect the tide, they can have a sun anchor.
