I think I agree with Daphnes on this one. Biologically, your father is the one whom your related to via blood, but theoretically can be the man who helped to raise you, as the father figure. Naturally, we're often drawn towards those who share our blood, hence why many adopted people often seek out their real parents, but the bond you develop with the ones who raised you (blood or not) is what sticks with you for life. I may be wrong on this however, but in my situation, my mother and father are my real parents.
