The console market and the time it takes to finish the game are probably much more important factors to consider. Whether or not it's the tenth anniversary will get them a little more media attention, but won't have a huge effect on who buys it.

um, the NES and SNES might not have had 3D games but they were still console zeldas, are far more important to the serious than FSA for one.
also, you might want to add to your list that it was 6 years between ALTTP and OoT. When they create a new game that adds a whole new direction to the series, it takes longer. Aonuma indeed said that TP was the last of this type of zelda, so I wouldn't be surprised if 2009 comes and we don't have a new console zelda.
Here's a list of the major zeldas:
1986....LoZ.........----
1987....AoL........(1 year)
1992....ALTTP....(5 years)
1998....OoT.......(6 years)
2000....MM........(2 years)
2002....WW.......(2 years)
2006....TP.........(4 years)
Going by the most recent trend of {2, 2, 4} since OoT made Zelda into one of Nintendo's 2 most important franches, I'll predict a 3 year span until the next Zelda, so sometime in 2009
