Re: Descendants of Destiny
I used "the" too much?
*reads paragraph on Ralon* You talkin' about the fight scene?
Anyways, here's a new chapter!!
Chapter 10: A day at Lake Hylia
Link walked down the hallways of Hyrule Castle with a bit of a smile on his face. Since the second he woke up this morning, he could smell something delicious cooking in the feast hall. He knew that Saldia was making another of her great breakfasts, and that it was something that would taste as good as it smelled.
The descendant of the Hero of Time came to the doors of the feast hall, and pushed them open as he stepped inside. The scent of fresh oatmeal lingered all about the air, and Link noticed Zelda sitting across the one table talking to Mirren as the boy ate a bowl of the oatmeal.
“How in God’s name do you always manage to get down here before me Mirren!?” he yelled. Zelda and the child both turned their attention to Link, and Zelda laughed.
“I don’t know, I guess I can just get up earlier than you always!” Mirren explained. Link narrowed his eyes as he started walking over to the table muttering something.
“Bah! Whatever, Zelda can I have some oatmeal?” he asked. The young woman smiled and nodded.
“Sure Link” she answered, and with that got up and went over to the kitchens. The descendant of the Hero of Time sat down next to Mirren and stared at the boy as he continually ate spoonfuls of the steaming, great smelling oatmeal.
“Well, how is it?” Link asked. The child looked up at his big brother.
“Awesome” he answered. Link smiled.
“What kind is it?” Mirren looked back down at it.
“I think it’s apple and cinnamon, but I’m not sure…but whatever it is it tastes just plain delicious! And the cinnamon makes it even better!” the boy exclaimed, and then grabbed the small bottle of cinnamon and sprinkled some more on the golden brown oatmeal. Link managed to get a chuckle from his little brother, and then noticed as Zelda came back to the table with a steaming bowl of the oatmeal.
“Here Link, hope ya like it” she said as she set it down before him. The young man’s eyes lit up.
“Well if it’s as good as Mirren says then I’ll love it!” he replied. Zelda smiled, and then sat down across from the two brothers. Link grabbed the small bottle of honey on the table and then poured some into his oatmeal. After stirring it around for a few seconds then, he took a spoonful of it and instantly his faced beamed. “Dang that stuff’s amazing!” Zelda laughed.
“Then I’m sure you’ll like what I’m cooking tonight, though it might take a bit…” she began before Link interrupted her.
“And why’s that?” he inquired, and took another spoonful of his oatmeal.
“Well, because it’s kinda huge ya know. I mean when you’ve got about twelve people to cook for its not some little dinner” she explained with smile and in a bit of a joking tone. The descendant of the Hero of Time cocked an eyebrow.
“Twelve people?” he continued to question. Zelda seemed a bit surprised now.
“Yeah, don’t you know about today? Malon and the others are coming over to go with all of us here at the castle to spend the day at Lake Hylia. Kaepora Gaebora will come with us too. Once dusk starts to roll around we’ll come back here and have dinner. Heck they may be here ‘til midnight if it comes to it” she stated. Link’s eyes bugged out and Mirren nearly spat his oatmeal out in surprise. Once he managed to swallow it though his face lit up.
“Dude that’s awesome! Today’s gonna be fun as heck!” he exclaimed. Link looked at Mirren.
“Yeah, but if we’re goin’ to Lake Hylia we gotta go to Kakariko Village to get some fishin’ stuff and a bunch of medicines and bug repellents!” he said. The child snapped his fingers and peculiarly pointed at Link.
“Indeeeed!” he shouted, “but first let us finish our breakfasts and then travel out!” The descendant of the Hero of Time smiled and nodded.
“A splendid plan my lil brother, today we fish like we’ve never fished before!” he added. Link and Mirren the noticed Zelda laughing uncontrollably across the table and at the point of nearly falling off her chair. Tears formed in her eyes as she continued her guffaw and laughed hysterically. The two brothers gazed at her with a befuddled expression.
“What?” the asked.
* * * * *
A couple hours later, a little bit before Malon and the others all came over to Hyrule Castle to leave with Zelda and the rest, Mirren and Link had gotten their steeds *well, pony for Mirren* ready, and both rode off to Kakariko Village to get a few things before they’d leave for Lake Hylia. They rode through the Hyrule Field and over the one creek to the large stone stairs that went up to the village, and after Link dismounted Lapola and Mirren dismounted Monatra, they both went inside the village. Though it was very early, a few of the shops were already opened right now, the shops that would prove to be most important for their supplies. Once they passed the gate and entered the almost silent, empty village, they all stopped.
“Well, I gotta go to the Bazaar and the Potion Shop to get a couple things, but that’s all” Link stated, “once I’m done with that I’ll be ready to go back” Mirren nodded, and watched as his big brother walked off. He grinned. The boy really had no reason to come here; but still did for a certain reason…
“Time to hit the bakery…” He whispered to himself.
After that little comment to himself, Mirren burned over to the bakery, which was amazingly opened, and walked inside. The store was empty except for the old female shopkeeper like the other stores, but filled with delicious looking treats and goodies. The shopkeeper noticed him and greeted him with a warm smile.
“Well hello there young one, want can I get you?” Mirren smiled and pointed to a little dark red colored box and three little sepia colored cakes.
“I’ll take a small box of the Crimson Leaf Tea, and then three of those lil spice cakes” he replied. The shopkeeper nodded, and then put all of what Mirren wanted into a bag.
“Seven rupees please” she said. Mirren then took the bag, and gave her a blue and two green rupees.
“Bye” he replied, and then left the store.
Link stood before the counter of the Potion Shop as he quickly glanced about the shelves deciding on what medicines and potions to buy today.
“May I help you sir?” the younger own asked politely. Link turned his face towards him.
“Yes, I’d like to get one Red Potion, two flasks of aloe gel, and then two canisters of burdock leaf remedy” the descendant of the Hero of Time answered. The shop keeper nodded, and with that went to the shelves and grabbed all of what Link wanted as he placed them back on the counter.
“That’ll be sixty rupees please” Link nodded, and reached into his wallet.
*“Sixty rupees only huh? Well, it seems the prices of medicine these days are decreasing…”* He said to himself in his head, and then took out and handed the shop keeper three red rupees. Link then placed the Red Potion, the two flasks of aloe gel, and then the two black canisters of burdock leaf remedy into his knapsack, and with a goodbye left the shop.
Link then dashed quickly over to the Bazaar, which was now a store with more items, almost like a small armory almost. Once he made it there, he entered it, and as always saw the big burley man who owned it.
“Mornin’, how may I help ya?” he asked.
“All I need today is a set of thirty arrows, and three strands of rope” Link responded. The shop keeper nodded, and then grabbed a bundle of arrows wrapped in a sand colored cloth, and handed it to Link, he slipped it away in his knapsack. The owner of the store quickly grabbed the coils of rope, and gave them to Link again.
“Twenty rupees” the man said. The descendant of the Hero of Time merely took a red rupee, and handed it to the shop keeper. “Have a good day…”
Mirren ran through the village still holding his bag full of desserts and smiled as he thought about them. Probably his favorite store in the entire village was the bakery, even the book shop didn’t match up to it in his opinion at times. He sprinted through the village, and soon came to the big tree in the middle where Link was leaning on as he smirked at his little brother.
“Making a stop at the bakery huh?” he asked. Mirren smiled and nodded.
“Yep, couldn’t resist” he answered. Link smiled and stood up as he patted Mirren on the head.
“Ready to go?” he inquired. Mirren nodded. The descendant of the Hero of Time smirked.
“Okay, Zelda, Malon and the others should be leaving either now or in a little bit, how about we make it there before all of them?” Link suggested. A grin grew across Mirren’s face.
“Let’s do it!” the child answered. His big brother smiled.
“Then let’s beat it!”
* * * * *
Zelda, Alsay, Tarrsus, Impa, Malon, Talon, Ingo, and Teerlis all trotted on their horses as they neared Lake Hylia. Kaepora Gaebora and Yaila flew above them then, taking part in whatever conversations were happening at the moment.
“So, where do ya think Link and Mirren are now?” Malon asked Zelda. The young woman sighed.
“Heck, if I know” she simply answered, “they’re probably still blowing all their money at Kakariko Village or getting lost, I betcha they’ll get there an hour or two late…” Alsay smirked.
“Oh come on, ya can’t think they’re *that* irresponsible!” she exclaimed.
“Yeah, and come on don’t ya think at least Mirren could ‘andle himself?” Talon questioned. Once again Zelda sighed and rolled her eyes.
“I swear I love the kid half to death, but if there’s one thing I’ve learned in my lifetime it’s that Mirren doesn’t know when to not do as Link says…and half the time what Link says ends up being another plan that goes down the toilet…” Zelda explained. Everyone laughed as they then entered the area around Lake Hylia, and as they trotted in continuing their chortle, a familiar voice spoke out loud.
“Oh, so every idea I have goes down the toilet now Zelda!” it yelled. In an instant everyone’s’ eyes snapped open, and were shocked to see Link and Mirren both standing by the edge of the water as they held fishing rods in their hands, though they also seemed to stare at Zelda with a bit of a glare.
“And I guess I’m just a lil follower of all of what Link does!?” the boy shouted. Zelda gazed at the two brothers as her eyes bugged out, and everyone else just laughed once again.
“I…I…I…” she stammered. Mirren gave her the cold shoulder, and Link just sneered at her and turned around.
“Forget her Mirren, let’s just keep fishing” he murmured to his little brother. Zelda still sat atop her horse staring at the two with her mouth agape now, as everyone else got off their steeds and began to get ready for whatever they were going to do. Ingo, Talon, Teerlis and Tarrsus all grabbed a fishing rod and got whatever else they were going to use for fishing. Alsay, Malon and Kaepora Gaebora all got to setting up picnic spots as they brought out a ton of food. While Yaila flew over to the small flower patches as she began to pick the small flowers and gather them up.
Eventually Zelda got off her horse, and looked a bit guilty. While they weren’t serious insults or anything, she could imagine they made Link and Mirren feel stupid, and that was the last thing she wanted to do. Reluctantly she trudged over to the two as they fished, and began to speak.
“Umm…I’m not sure if you guys wanna even listen to me…but I’m sorry for what I said, and I really didn’t mean to say it in front of everyone…can you two forgive me?” Link and Mirren both stood silently, and after a few second seemed to ponder over Zelda’s apology. They looked at each other for a second, and then looked back to the lake.
“I don’t know…” they both said. Zelda felt her heart sink, and looked away in shame almost. Suddenly though, Link and Mirren both spun around and smiled. “But fine by me!” they both exclaimed again. Instantly Zelda’s face lit up as she smiled back.
“Thanks guys you’re the best!” she replied. The two brothers smirked, and even while he didn’t notice it, Mirren’s rod seemed to get a tug from the water.
“Well I mean what can ya say about the two greatest brothers in GAAAAAH!!!” he suddenly screamed as something pulled him with incredible force and made Mirren do a complete flip and smash into the ground as his line snapped and sunk off into the water. Link and Zelda both went bug eyed, and as Zelda knelt down next to Mirren to check on him as Link stared at the water.
“Dang that’s gotta be one biiiig fish…” the descendant of the Hero of Time said. Mirren groaned.
“Uh-hoooo…my back…” the child moaned.
* * * * *
A little while later, Link, Tarrsus, Ingo, Talon and Teerlis all continued to fish as Mirren now sat with Zelda and the others resting his back as he had a little lunch. His body was still throbbing from his painful flip, and the last thing he needed was to break it in half by trying to catch the gigantic fish that got his line.
“So, Yaila, what kind of flowers didja pick?” Malon asked before she took a bite of a fresh apple she was eating.
“A lot of nice ones” the fairy replied, and then grabbed some of them, “I managed to get a couple buttercups, as well as some purple pansies, and then actually some of the lake-shore flowers” The ranch girl smiled.
“Those are really nice, I should start picking flowers again. I could put a few in vases for around the house and sell the rest to the flower vendors in Kakariko Village” Malon stated.
“Ahhh, I used to love going out in the fields and picking wildflowers. I swear it was so much fun when I was younger. I should get back around to doing it” Zelda explained, and then took a big spoonful of some raspberry pudding. Kaepora Gaebora took a sip of some mint leaf tea.
“If you think that’s something, you should all see how gorgeous the patches are from above in the sky. My gosh the colors are just amazing” the owl explained. Yaila smiled.
“I can imagine, I should try that one time” Kaepora smirked.
“Indeed you should little one. Go with me sometime, we can look at the endless plains filled with all the colorful beauty of the flowers” he replied. All this time Mirren sat silent as he merely took slug after slug of a bottle of the dragon fruit drink Nabooru gave him. Eventually though he managed to finish it, and once he did he wiped his lips and placed it on the picnic cloth.
“Well I’m done, I think I’ll get back to the fishing now” the boy said, and then got up to walk away. Zelda seemed a bit surprised.
“But are you sure your back’s alright? You might get hurt” the young woman explained. Mirren leered.
“It’ll be better than sittin’ there listenin’ to you guys talk about flowers…” he answered.
As Mirren made his way over to Link and the others, they all stood holding their fishing rods staring at the water looking bored as ever. Soon the boy came to them, and once he did he simply looked at them each at a time.
“Catch anything?” Teerlis turned to the boy.
“Nothing whatsoever…” he answered, “I swear there’s just nothing going for our baits!”
“Yep, and every time we try to cast out farther we still get nothing” Tarrsus added. Ingo fumed.
“What the heck is the matter with these fish!? I’ve heard all over this lake is the best place for fishing and al I’ve seen in a load of…” he began before Talon interrupted him.
“Calm down already Ingo, your screaming isn’t helping either ya know…hey Link whata ya doing?” he asked as he noticed the young man tying a small, thin strand of rope about the end of an arrow.
“What I bought these arrows and spools of rope for- arrow fishing” Link responded. Mirren’s eyes lit up.
“Then I’m helpin’ ya too!” he exclaimed, and then ran over to his big brother as he too began to tie a piece of rope to an arrow. Within a few more seconds they were finished, and then grabbed a bow apiece.
“Yo, Tarrsus, Talon, would you two mind if you held the coils for us?” he asked.
“Sure Link!” Talon replied.
“No problem!” added Tarrsus. Once they had them then, Mirren grabbed a small bag of bait- or tiny berries.
“And Teerlis could ya throw of this onto the water, as far as ya can” the boy explained. The young man nodded.
“Sure Mirren. So, what the heck are you gonna do?” he asked as he took the bag.
“It’s really simple actually” Link began, “once the bait is on the surface of the water, hopefully some fish will come to get, especially that big one. Once he does, me and Mirren will get him with the arrows, and then pull him in” Ingo cocked an eyebrow.
“How positive are you that it’ll work?” the man questioned. Link’s face went blank slightly, and he sighed.
“Not very…” he answered.
“Hey guys I’m done with the bait!” Teerlis called out to them, and went back over to where everyone stood. They all then looked out onto the bait-sprinkled water, and began to wait.
After a few minutes, Mirren began to notice something out of the corner of his eye. He saw some shadow in the waters by the old shrine, and continually it moved around. Glancing over by it, he gazed as it began to rise higher, and within a few seconds it created a huge splash as it emerged from the waters, and actually spoke.
“Hey guys! What’s up!?” The new Ruto exclaimed. Instantly all the guys who were fishing had their eyes bug out, while the others all seemed happy to see the princess of the Zora tribe.
“Hi Ruto! I didn’t know you’d be here!” Yaila called out.
“Yeah, I decided to take the shortcut from the domain over to here for a swim, but I guess I got some company now!” The descendant of the Hero of Time looked more taken aback than the others.
“Ohhh ma’ God…” he muttered.
As the guys fished, Ruto was now sitting with Zelda and the others drinking some mint leaf tea and chatting with all of them.
“Ow! It’s hot, but certainly good!” Ruto exclaimed after taking a sip. Zelda laughed.
“Thanks. So, what’s going on with you lately?” Ruto took another careful sip before answering.
“Not much. My dad’s been trying to make a team for water rescues around here and by the ocean with the Zoras from our tribe, and all he needs is about five more and it’ll be done” Malon’s eyes lit up.
“Oh wow that’s great! That’ll help out do so much!” the ranch girl stated. Ruto nodded.
“Yep, and they’ll also help out teaching kids to swim. Daddy’s real excited for this” the princess responded.
“Well I’d be too! That’ll probably end up being one of the most popular organizations in Hyrule!” Kaepora Gaebora spoke, “aren’t you guys also doing water inspections of the river this week too” The new Sage of Water nodded.
“Yep, once we get it all cleaned out we’ll be sure to send you guys at castle a few crates of the bottled water” Ruto said. Zelda smiled.
“Gee thanks Ruto, you don’t need to do that” the young woman replied. Ruto smirked.
“Nah, I always try to help my friends to best I can. I can always find a way, believe me, I’m not fish outta water…” Instantly everyone burst out into laughter.
After what seemed to be an eternity, the sun just began to finally, slowly set. So far nothing had gone for the bait, and all the guys had nearly fallen asleep from boredom. Link stood shaking, though not because he was cold or afraid- but because he was at the point of having steam come out of his ears in anger.
“This stinks!!!” he roared, “we’ve waited out here for a good two stinkin’ hours and still we haven’t caught anything!!” Mirren Tarrsus sighed.
“Yeah man, this really stinks on ice” the Minotaur said.
“Why don’t we just stop, pack up and go back to the castle for some dinner” Teerlis suggested. Everyone seemed to agree, and just as they began to start walking away, Mirren noticed something. By the seconds, good deals of the berries were disappearing under the water, and as he squinted he saw some huge shape moving around. His eyes bugged out.
“BIG FISH!!!” he screamed. Instantly all the others turned around, and ran over by him as they looked out at where the bait was. The child was correct- there was some gigantic fish eating the bait!!”
“Oh God! Mirren we gotta fire!” Link exclaimed. The boy began to aim, and finally got a good position.
“I’m way ahead of ya bro!” Mirren yelled, and with that shot off his arrow. Link soon did the same, and the two arrows soared through the air and eventually straight into the water right where the fish was. Tarrsus and Talon could feel the coils tug, and the others noticed the fish was thrashing underwater.
“You guys got him! We gotta start pulling him in!” Talon shouted out. Just as he said that, Ingo ran over by Link and began to help him pull in his arrow as Teerlis helped Mirren pull his. Talon and Tarrsus were reeling in their coils of rope as fast as they possibly could, and as all of this happened, the splashes of the flogging of the huge fish flew up into the air everywhere. It seemed like it was stronger than a monster, as even all six of the guys still struggled to reel in it. The fish began to actually pull them closer to the water, and now they put every ounce of strength into their pulls as they desperately tried to get that fish in. But still it put up a great fight, and slowly they were all losing it.
Nevertheless, they continued their exertion, and slowly now, they pulled it closer and closer. Within a minute, it was at the shallow part of the lake, and it could be seen entirely. It was gigantic; literally. Its body must’ve been six or seven feet long, and its silver scales shined as it thrashed about to escape the arrows and the six fishers. Link began to grin.
“We got it! That dang fish is ours!!!” he yelled.
“Maybe not Link! Look! The arrows are coming loose!” Teerlis shouted as he pointed at it. The descendant of the Hero of Time’s eyes widened.
“Oh crud!” he exclaimed, “He might escape!” Mirren could feel the adrenaline flowing through his veins at full course.
“Not if I can stop it!” he screamed, and with that ran at the water with a fierce expression as he bellowed out in fury. He dove right into the water, and straight onto the fish with an elbow drop. The boy stopped it for a second, and soon as it flogged about it knocked him flat. Mirren got right back up though, and once again jumped at it. He locked his arms about the massive fish, and as it fought to escape, he wrestled with it as he pulled it closer to the shore. Water splashed constantly into him, blinding him for a second and disorientating him greatly. But still he fought on, and as he got closer to the others with it he felt an adrenaline rush got through his body. In perhaps the most amazing act of intensity and ferocity, Mirren actually lifted the fish up into the air for a second, and threw it onto the ground about ten feet away. The huge fish smashed onto the ground, and still flailed around before Mirren came up to it and placed his foot on it dominantly. “Boo-yah!!!” he yelled out as he flexed whatever muscles he had while everyone else either cheered for the great catch or laughed hysterically from the child’s antics.
* * * * *
About an hour or so later, everyone returned back to Hyrule Castle. After freeing the fish from the arrows, everyone decided such a great, massive animal shouldn’t be eaten as a dinner- but instead let go to swim freely amongst the waters of Lake Hylia. And even without it, they had a mighty fine dinner. Zelda, Impa, Alsay, Yaila and Malon all put their cooking skills together and ended up creating a fabulous feast for everyone. They had onion soup, honey baked apples, mashed potatoes, sharp cheese, green beam steamed carrots, walnuts, blackberry pudding, cooked trout and luscious ribs covered in the great rib sauce. Everyone ate their fill, especially Tarrsus and Link, who together probably ate nearly half the food. It was a good time though, and it became even better when they had their dessert- glazed cinnamon rolls.
Zelda also insisted that Malon and the others all stayed the night and relax at the castle, also to spend more time with everyone. They accepted, and at the moment were all somehow having fun. Kaepora Gaebora was flying up high in the night sky, Tarrsus, Ingo, Talon and Teerlis were all in the armory testing out and looking at weapons, Alsay, Impa and Malon were all having some tea in the throne room, Mirren and Yaila stayed in the feast hall, and Zelda and Link sat outside together.
“Wow, I still can’t believe that dinner ended up so good!” Malon exclaimed. Impa chuckled, and took a sip of her tea.
“Well whata ya expect? You had you, me, Alsay, Yaila *and* Zelda all cooking together, I mean you and Zelda manage to make great dinners on your own, add three more gals in and we make the master feast!” the Sage of Shadow replied. Malon laughed, and Alsay drank some of her tea.
“Wait, when you say Zelda and Malon make great dinners on their own, what are you implying about you, me and Yaila?” she asked. Impa took another slug of her tea and looked at the young woman.
“That they’re just plain better than us” Impa responded. Alsay smirked.
“Well, can’t argue with that statement” Malon barely managed to keep her tea in her mouth.
“Oh come on guys! Me and Zelda aren’t *that* good!” the ranch girl stated.
“I tend to disagree” a familiar voice suddenly said out loud. All three girls then looked at the entrance to the throne room, and saw Teerlis walking over to them. “So, what exactly are you talking about?”
“Just about the dinner and how Malon and Zelda are such good cooks” Alsay answered. Teerlis smiled and sat down not to Malon.
“So I see” he responded, and then poured himself some tea. He took one quick sip, and looked at Malon out of the corner of his eye. “You make this?” Malon nodded. Teerlis smiled. “I knew, I can always tell from the great taste that you made the tea” Malon smiled.
“Heh, thanks hun” she said. The young man grinned.
“Of course sweetie” Teerlis spoke and then wrapped his arm around Malon and pulled her close. Alsay and Impa both chuckled.
“Aww, you two make a cute couple” Alsay said.
“I gotta agree on that” Impa added. Teerlis smirked.
“Always have been. But can ya blame me for stayin’ her?” the young man asked. Once again Alsay and Impa chuckled, and Malon smiled.
“Aww. Thanks Teerlis, I love ya” the ranch girl stated, and then snuggled up next to him.
“Love ya too Malon…” Teerlis replied.

Mirren sat in one of the chairs at the main table in the feast hall slouching as he held his stomach.
“Hoofa…man that was good dessert…” he said. Yaila sat on the top of one of the bottles of wine with a bit of a stony expression.
“Are you finally done eating all your cinnamon rolls?” she questioned. Mirren tried to have that innocent expression, though looked more surprised at the fairy’s questioned.
“What!? Come on I was still hungry! And I can’t pass up dessert!” Mirren exclaimed. The fairy still kind of glared at him.
“Mirren…you had a full dinner, and within the course of the last twenty minutes you’ve eaten *five* cinnamon rolls…” Yaila explained. Mirren seemed a bit perplexed.
“So…? I’m a growing boy, I gotta eat” he struck back. Yaila sighed.
“Whatever, I just don’t understand how you eat so much and still weight only eighty- some pounds” the fairy spoke. The boy smirked.
“Fast metabolism, that’s all I can say” Mirren replied. Yaila rolled her eyes.
“Nevertheless you eat desserts like a pig” Mirren grinned.
“You’re just jealous because you’re too little to eat that much…” he said back. The very second the boy said that, Yaila’s eyes literally flared, and turned the bottle she sat on pointing at Mirren and pushed the cork hard enough to send it flying at him. It struck him square in the forehead, right between the eyes, and made him grab his forehead and groan.
“Ow! Hey man that’s not cool you blind someone like that!” Mirren yelled. Yaila laughed, and as she continued her guffaw Mirren soon joined in.

The night was a very calm, peaceful time on this day. The sky was a black color like a panther’s fur, but with a mixture of shining dark cerulean. You could see the moon and the stars gleamed nicely tonight. It may’ve still been dark, though there was enough light outside for Link and Zelda to sit on a bench and enjoy the night time together.
There were in one the castle gardens, encircled by a multitude of colorful flowers ranging from purple pansies to sweet yellow buttercups. The serpent statue was still emitting a stream of crystal clear water from its mouth, sending more and more of the aqua into the pool. Constantly you could hear that smooth, concord sound of the rush waters, and for some reason it made Zelda feel relaxed.
She sat closely to Link, as he held her with one arm as he pulled her closer. They both smiled as they gazed out into the sky. Link then noticed a lone yellow rose growing next to a patch of white pansies, and with one quick motion plucked it from the ground. He turned back to Zelda, and handed it to her. Her eyes lit up to see the beautiful flower, and took it within her own hand.
“Thank you Link…” she said. The young man only smiled back. As she held the gorgeous rose in her hands, she leaned against Link, and rested her head on his shoulder. Zelda really liked Link. They had been friends nearly all their lives, and had a really nice relationship. They’d do anything for each other, and in a sense they had the friendship of a husband and wife- though they hadn’t once kissed each other yet, and they hadn’t gotten to that point where they truly loved each other. Nevertheless, they were definitely the best of friends- and that was fine for both of them…for now at least.
“That was fun today, I wish we could do things like that more often” Zelda stated. Link smirked.
“I do too, though I’d like to something with you, just you and me for a day” he replied. Zelda looked up at him, and he looked back at her.
“You serious?” she asked. The young man nodded.
“Of course, why wouldn’t I wanna spend a day with my favorite girl?” Link questioned back with a smirk. Zelda stared at him, almost shocked or surprised, but soon she smiled.
“Thanks Link, that’s very sweet of you…I’d like to do that…” she whispered. Link smiled right back.
“So, how long you wanna stay out here?” Zelda inquired. The descendant of the Hero of Time slightly shrugged.
“As long as you want…” Link merely answered. Zelda’s smile widened, and she pressed closer to him.
