Usually when Chomps' species is domesticated by someone, he/she ussually has a pamphlet that allows them to study the sounds and emotions a tyrannosaurus knucklerii does. Once he/she has studied enough, they usually communicate with what sounds like chirps and clicks that, though not accurate to the sounds the animal makes, is enough to for the animal to understand. Thus it is only domesticated animals of tyrannosaurus knucklerii that are able to communicate with human and humanoids, though kaiju can understand their language better since their reptavians.

If you look at stop motion films with a saurian predator, you'll see that the animal has usually the longest role of other dinosaurs that appeared in that film,usually because the animal has thick skin. Because mainland hylians never seen such a predator, they will mostly cower until the military comes (see jurassic park films for an example).

This specie, along with a giant species of saltasaurid, and a species of denonychosaurid the size of wolves and tigers, are considered part of kaiju millitary as war animals. Usually

the domesticated animals will be involved. Like you said, they can get kill by swords and arrows, but like a war elephant, it takes a lot of blows to take down each animal.
