These have to be the top R.E.M. songs. I couldn't do thirty flat...I just kept taking out and putting in stuff, and they have over 500 official tracks floating around (that I know of).
Accelerate feels like a soundtrack to humnanity. Driving down the road to pay the electric bill with the windows up, there was a song for each passerby; it was zen like.
To everyone who overlooks R.E.M. [for any reason] should pick them up.
I always say that if you don't like R.E.M., you just haven't found the song that fits you.

I'd say push it to the top, I just discovered them this past month and they knocked NIN off my band obsession's top.
If I had to put their albums in any paticular order, it'd be:
1.) Automatic For the People
2.) Out of Time
3.) New Adventures in Hi-Fi
4.) Document
5.) Accelerate
6.) Monster
7.) Up
8.) Green
9.) Life's Rich Pageant
