They are trying to show their franchise is worth more than having the same dolt star in every single movie, they want to break away from the whole Rocky, Rambo dull movies and break out the stuff they had been working on, example The Sarah Connor Chronicles and the new movies, Arnie isnt essential to the franchise if anything it held them back.
