Shad now travels the land, aiding any and all stricken by the cruel hand of misfortune. He loves asking people about their past now, and if he can relate to them, he tells them about his. However, Shad's new soft side doesn't make him weaker, it just makes him all the more ready for anything, be it battle or not.
This is slightly better, but it kinda seems off character for Shad. It's obvious that he's the more angry and aggressive type of person. I think it would be better for him to be sorely bitter about his mentor's death, but it's not like it has to be his reason for fighting. He could simply be bitter and angry and may not know what he should fight for anymore. Simple depression. A sense of hopelessness. Think on that for a while.

Also, when I tell you to think more on any suggestions I make, I don't mean "copy what I say and put it in the profile." I'm trying to simulate more ideas into your head by using some ideas of my own. I want you to brainstorm. I want you to think for yourself, that's how a writer finds his or her originality and style and ideas. Sure other ideas can inspire you. A lot of mine I copied from others but then changed somethings around, added a few of my own twists and personal style to make it original. That's called using your creativity to make an old used idea into a bright, new, and shiny one. Basically, all I ask is for you to think about that.
