Shad Everblade
*Edited*
Name: Shad Everblade
Age: 17
Race: Hylian (Human)
Sex: Male
Hair: Light brown and smooth. He has long bangs that reach down just below his eyebrows, but he likes keeping the back neatly trimmed up to the point where his neck meets his skull. (Kind of like a mullet reversed).
Eyes: Shad's eyes are almond shaped with green irises.
Weight: Shad weighs approximately 133 lbs. (Pounds).
Height: Shad is 5"8. (Five feet eight inches tall).
Weapon(s): A longsword with a bright green blade and blue hilt, named "The Everblade," after his last name. (If uncertain as to shape, it's a standard longsword, like the Ordon Sword). He wields the sword using his right hand, and prefers to use it in swift, smooth strokes as opposed to furiously strong, and slow, slashes. In his left hand, Shad holds a plain black metal shield with a green falcon emblem. (Again, I'm just going to use a reference as to explaining it in words, which would be very hard. It's shaped like the Ordon Shield). He also has a longbow made of oak wood, colored black with scarlet trim, and a quiver on his back to match. He only uses the bow for when an enemy is charging him, or when an enemy does not see him. His preferred method of shooting is dropping down on one knee as he strings the bow and places an arrow, then releasing with a swift, sudden motion. Shad wears no armor, just the clothes on his back.
Strength(s): Shad is decently fast on both his feet and when using any sort of weapon, except weapons that require two-hands and aren't bows. Other than this, Shad just has great technical fighting skill with his chosen weapons.
Weakness(s): If Shad meets someone who outmatches him in speed,or can use magic he's done. Shad just doesn't have much power due to his age, so anything or anyone older than him can defeat him without too big a challenge. Other than this, Shad gets frustrated very easily, which reduces his ability to think straight, which can cost him the fight.
Skills/Magic: Shad can't use any sort of magic, making him just a standard Hylian, but he has three skills with his sword that he himself has named. The "Head Crusher" is an ability where Shad feints a vertical downward slash to the opponent's left side, then shoves his shield up into the opponent's face, bringing his sword back around for a follow-up horizontal slash to the temple. The "Leg Splitter" is when Shad does a short jump, lashing outward with his foot in midair towards one of the opponent's legs, then throwing his sword like a spear at the other leg. His last ability, the "Torso Ripper," is when Shad lunges forward, stabs the opponent in the chest, brings his blade through the opponent's left (his right) side, then spins and slashes into the opponent's right (his left) side.
Appearance: Shad has lightly tanned skin and has small amounts of muscle showing on his person. His muscle shows on his biceps, chest, and calves. His clothing consists of a black, long-sleeved tunic with a bloodred vest worn over it. The vest has no sleeves and is streaked with all sorts of grime, both from the world and war. His leggings are black, with black boots to match. Shad wears silver gauntlets, which are a gift from the Goron who both trained him to fight, and adopted him. A forest green sash is strapped around his waist, it has no buckle and is streaked like his vest with the grime of everything.
Personality: In his first ten years of his life, Shad was impatient, angry, and rough. But his Goron mentor taught him patience as the years went by. Now, Shad still gets frustrated rather easily, but isn't very impatient, and is as kind as he can be towards others. He will never strike out at anyone who isn't an enemy without being struck at first. When meeting new people, Shad is timid for about the first few sentences of a conversation, then quickly becomes immersed into learning more about this new person, most of the time asking them about their past. Towards friends, Shad is kind and generous, and always puts their lives before his, taking the hit for many more than once. Towards enemies, Shad is rough, aggressive, and always attacks on sight, no matter who is watching. Shad worships nobody, and serves nobody and nothing, except his own cause, but, this does not stop him from helping anybody in need of his aid with something other than battle.
Biography: Shad was less than two months old when he was abandoned by his birthparents on Death Mountain, where he was found by an old Goron man and taken in as a foster son. As Shad progressed through life, he grew to respect his Goron foster father more than any other being that existed. The Goron turned Shad into a kinder person as the years grew by, and taught him how to defend himself. Shad was very popular with the Goron children that were his age, as they had never had a Hylian actually live with them. Both his good friends and foster father helped Shad along the right path as he grew. When he was fifteen, his Goron mentor took him down Death Mountain and to Kakariko Village, where Shad enjoyed the scenery, and seeing other Hylian children there. It was there that his Goron mentor told him his true name, which Shad swore to tell no other. In Kakariko, his mentor also forged Shad's sword and shield for him. On the return trip to Death Mountain, Shad and the old Goron were attacked by a group of fully grown Stalfos. Shad fought wildly, swinging his sword in all directions at the oncoming tide of undead monsters, while his mentor fought with the experience of a master, using his great two-handed ax. Shad managed to defeat the group, which numbered around a dozen, but the old Goron was mortally wounded in the process. His last words to Shad were, "You have grown, young Shad, and here, before I die, I grant you your title....And tell you how proud I am of you, and how grateful I am that I was chosen to raise someone...As great...As you... Now go, and be swift....Everblade..." Shad now travels the land, aiding any and all stricken by the cruel hand of misfortune. He loves asking people about their past now, and if he can relate to them, he tells them about his. However, Shad's new soft side doesn't make him weaker, it just makes him all the more ready for anything, be it battle or not.
