Links Awakening

Here's my attempt to adapt it to a ff. My version of the timeline has it set right after the events of WW and PH. Link is washed off the pirates boat and ends up on Koholint. Here's the first bit, and i'll try to add a chapter at least once a week. Be aware that this is my first fan fiction, so be gentle, k?

The Legend of Zelda: Links Awakening

The boy awoke in darkness. In the back of his mind he dimly recalled a violent storm and a cold, wet blackness. He evaluated his surroundings: A plainly furnished room that appeared to be kitchen, living space, and bedroom all rolled into one. two figures were seated at a table in the corner, conversing quietly. He took time to notice that one was a girl of stunning beauty despite the terrible lighting which was caused by a few candles placed around the room.
Sitting up, he groaned at the sudden stabbing pain in his side. The girl looked up at the sound and rushed over, concern etched on every feature. "Oh, you're awake! You had us worried half to death!" Now that she had stepped into the light, he saw that she was relatively young, with brown eyes and a mane of dark hair.
He stared at her enraptured and barely realized that she was coming to the end of her sentence. "- and that was when I found you lying on the shoreline. But that was three days ago! You've been asleep this entire time. It sounded like you were having some horrific nightmares. My name is Marin, by the way."
He found himself at a loss for words, only managing a weak mumble. Marin giggled and ran to the door. "I suppose i'm going to go to the weather vane. If you want me I'll be there. By the way, your clothes are in the chest at the foot of the bed." The boy looked down and was shocked to discover that he was completely naked. Turning a deep shade of pink, he glanced up at Marin. She giggled once again, and quickly opened the door and left before he could even get his name out. Confused, he rubbed his bruised side and made to get up out of bed. He suddenly remembered that there was another person in the room and immediately made to cover himself. The other person seated at the table and chuckled. "Don't worry about that lad. I'll turn my back to ya. Name's Tarin. Nice to see you've made acquaintance with my daughter. She does have a fondness for bringing home strays. Never thought she'd bring home a big feller like yourself." The boy smiled wryly and went to the chest to get his clothes. He pulled out a green tunic and a light chainmail undergarment and proceeded to dress. "Found something that belongs to you. This your shield? Remarkable craftsmanship. I used to do a bit of smith work when I was younger and not so large. You done yet?" The boy made a sound of acknowledgment and went to the table. Tarin pulled a small shield out from under his chair and handed it to the boy. "Ya might want to head out the beach to find some remainder of yer boat. No vessel could've survived that torrent." Nodding, the boy made to head to the door. "By the way, what's your name, lad?"
The youth turned, his hand upon the door. "Link." he said. "My name is Link."
