There are times that we will meet people who make our lives difficult. Of course we may wish for them to disappear, but in the end, you weren't at fault for his death. You've turned your other cheek and tried to be the good samaritan by trying to befriend him, but he continued to lash at you. Don't feel guilty for his death. Although the timing was quite coincidental, don't blame yourself. Instead, try to have remorse for his family in the sad times they are going through right now. Please don't speak negatively of the dead, it's never a good thing to do (at least when he's fresh on everybody's minds), just be the bigger person, go to his ceremonial funeral and truly forgive him for all the troubles he caused you when he was alive. If you can't forgive him now, it may carry on with you for the rest of your life. This is the best way to start moving on...
