Re: lets discuss Oblivion
I just recently started playing again, now that I have a PC that can run it.
The core game is rather too...Diablo-ish for my taste. It's fun, but it's still running dungeons and fighting enemies on little pretext. I've also got to ask why everyone in the game has jaundice and horribly disfiguring face-blemishes.
The plot is also pretty meh, which is a shame, considering the attention that they gave to most of the side-quests.
Shivering Isles, now, is amazing. It has memorable NPCs, it's very creative, while the gameplay is largely the same it just has more...spice, to it.
The plot, while still not outstanding, at least has a twist in it; something I thought I'd never see in a Bethesda game.
And, really, Sheogorath is probably the best NPC in any game ever.
So, anyways, I tend to prefer "spellsword" or "battlemage"-esque characters; ones who weild both swords and magic, though normally in light armour (I just summon bound stuff if I really need defense. Or take the enemies out at range with a fireball or eight.)
