Have you read the original Manga, by Arakawa Hiromu? It's quite good!!!!  Spoiler (Highlight to read):
The only problem with it, as far as I'm concerned, is that the villians are predominantly male, with only Lust (who dies quite early) being female, and the rest being males, including Father, who replaces Dante as head villian, and even Sloth, which annoys me, because it does'nt have enough balance!!!!
