This is where Link comes in. He's part of the army. You start the game just fighting the Zolas. Training level sort of thing. Then one night, you are sent back to Castle Town, which has fallen under attack from the shadow army. The shadow army is far too powerful, and cannot be destroyed. So rather than return to a futile battle, Link goes off on none but what is now considered a legend (an older Link killing Ganondorf with the sacred blade). People think he's crazy. He eventually gets the Master Sword. Once he has the sword, Castle Town is totally over run. The next attack is at Kakariko. The town is alerted, and Link is commanded to lead the army. (gotta love how higher ups respect the power of a legendary artifact) So then a scene of the battle. The dark lord shows himself (totally suited up in armor) Link goes right after him. Big fight, everyone else is waring all around. There ya go.

Obviously, the real thing would have to be a lot more indepth, but that's the gist of what I'm thinking.[/QUOTE]
I really like that. Would Ganondorf kind of be using the Zola/Zora War as a distraction so he can pursue his goals (Triforce?)?
If you have read the first post in this thread you saw that I had Link living in a church and being a religious/historical kind of guy. Maybe we could do that instead of him being in the military (maybe he joins later?) so that it would explain why he goes off in search of the sword instead of fighting the war the "normal" way.
When he joins later, he would be a part of the fight to recapture Castle Town and there he kills Ganondorf. Everybody cheers, happy ending, credits roll, etc. etc...
