I'm a huge Indy fan. Have been my whole life. I've known about the development of Kingdom of the Crystal Skull for a long time now, and have read up on news whenever there was any. But that didn't prepare me for what was coming next...
I went to the theaters sometime last week to watch Jumper (which is a great movie, by the way), and was hit by the Lucasfilm logo that has the double-meaning as the symbol of ultimate greatness. And then the music of much ultimate greatness, then, well, you know the rest.
For a lack of a better word, I was giddy.
Ecstatic. It took everything I had not to hop up and down with excitement (seeing a big guy like me doing that would be very very strange). I was never able to see Indiana Jones in theaters, so this simple trailer
blew me away! Nostalgia was no longer nostalgia. This was for
my generation! Indy rides again! Okay, I'm probably not making any sense, because it's hard to describe how I was feeling while watching the trailer.
When the movie finally began, it was extremely hard to get a grip of myself and pay attention to what was going on. Even though I greatly enjoyed the movie, I left the theater, and from then on to the next couple of days, I was whistling/humming/dooting the Indiana Jones theme. The sad thing about this though is, I'll be on my mission by the time it's out in theaters.
Oh well. I might be able to rent out a theater someday and watch it like that anyways.
As for those who are complaining about Harrison Ford being too old...don't you think they've already thought of that? It's blatantly obvious to me. It happens during the Cold War, with Communist Soviets instead of Nazis. The trailer shows him being slapped around in the beginning (which further proves how old Indy is at the time), and I'm sure we'll have a few "I'm getting too old for this" jokes.
Trust me. All is well. This is Indiana Jones. It will be great. It will be ultimate. It will be
extreme!
