SALUTE OUR HERO!!

SACREDSTURGEON'S EDIT: Closed upon the thread creator's request

EDIT: As humulos has left, the thread has served its purpose and is therefoe locked. Long live the humulation army!

Who is this hero? Why, of course, it’s me: your one and only Man of World!

No, actually this thread is dedicated to my very best ZU friend who shall be leaving us for two years in five days. You might have heard of him. He’s this dude from Florida, working to get money so that he can leave us. Huh, never knew ZU had a fee for leaving. Well, it’s an effective way to keep members, I suppose.

To be all serious, for just a brief moment (serious people are boring), the one I dedicated this thread to is humulos. No capital H, just plain humulos. I guess his name pretty much says everything about his persona: Easy to handle, impossible to fully understand.

humulos made his debut in the Theorizing section, pretty much. His extremely controversial humulation theory was met by much resistance, not least from my side. After just a few short month, humulos has become an active, friendly and pretty well-known member of ZU. He even made his own special friend list, the humulation army, including as many as thirty people! Aren’t they gonna be disappointed when their general leaves them? Well, let’s find out what they think of their commander.

Being a master of evil plans, I contacted every single person in his freakin army and asked them to mention stuff about humulos that they’ve appreciated. We’ve also provided a handful of quotes.

While doing this, I realised that humulos has come way further in the socialising sector than I, even though I’ve been here for quite a while. humulos has a talent for making friends, something which I admire. Not saying that I have a problem making friends, far from it. I’m just… overall lazy, which is why I’ve been here so long without making a lot of friends and put them on a freakin friend list.

humulos, on the other hand, is far from lazy, which is why he’s leaving us. His ambition still amazes me, as he’s perfectly willing to give up his current life for two years to go serve some place in Nevada. And to think Blizzaga is soon to follow. Silly mormons.

I shall now list a few (that’s the understatement of the day) people and their greatest humulastic moments, starting with myself. I still have countless of PM’s from humulos in my inbox, full of conversations about Double ALttP Theories, conversations about life and overall nonsense. Listing all the great moments I’ve had with this guy would make the thread risiculously long, so I’ll only present a few, and then I’ll let some other fellows. So let’s present:

THE MOST AWESOME HUMULASTIC MOMENTS!

From myself:

Hombre:
Good thing my first impression of you were false, namely (when reading your topic title): "Merged Timelines?! What an idiot!"

humulos:
I have to say, when you first starting posting in my thread, I had thought you an elitist pig, but then as we went through, I realized you were genuinely smart, and a great theorist and Zelda knower.

humulos:
Two words, Jet Packs.

Oh, and what's the deal with associating me with Red? I never had anything to do with red, did I? Not complaining, Red's an awesome color but I don't think I've been having any sigs or avatars involving red or anything. All I know is red is a color that is associated with win (psychologically proven), so I'm all happy ;-)

humulos:
I associate you with red because Swedish Fish are red :-P

Hombre:
I laughed hard at swedish fish. I actually have an unopened bag of those left form my US trip. We don't have them here in Sweden. Weird, huh?

humulos:
THERE ARE NO SWEDISH FISH IN SWEDEN!?!?! Well I have no reason to go there anymore do I, lol.

Oh, and Hamster Ganon says hi

Yeah, Impaz is not Impa. I think Nintendo added that Z to ouline that Impaz is somehow conected to Impa but also to show that they are not the same character.

humulos:
Well they are related though. The Z is just there to signify a sequel. Like Dragon Ball and Dragon Ball Z

I just made it, it's the first completed thing I've made with GIMP! And humulos helped me learn how to make transparancy. So this is my present to him for helping me.

Nittles
Everyone is going to say this, but his fantastic, if contrevesial, timline theory. I'm just glad I joined early enough to meet him. We love you Humulos!

He's also helped people with animated sigs, like that girl Alisoun who had a clip of TP Link on Epona and it said "Link, he come to Town!"

Viewtiful Star (aka Miss Pirate)
Humulos was a kick-ass graphic artist. He made me a sig and an avatar when nobody else would. He was very nice, and helpful.

Sailboat
The best thing Humulous has ever done is create that "I'm a thwomp" thing. Here's to Humulous!
I'm a thwomp. I thwomp people.

I'm only helping you on a whim, considering I outrank both you and Humulous. It's important that my privates are happy.

Humulos has always been and will always be a kind and respectable guy. He's a funny and productive member and he will be missed over the two years that he's gone for. His great taste in games, cunning skill in the Clan Arena and great knowledge in the realm of Super Smash Brothers will not be forgotten, and neither will his unique Voldemort signature or the "I'm a Thwomp" meme. In fact, Humulos is so awesome, I'm actually writing something like this for him. I know I'm no good at it, and I rarely do this for anyone. I only do it for people who really, really deserve it.

Congratulations, Humulos. You have earned a poorly worded and uncreative sentimental note from Sailboat. I now promote you to a rank slightly lower than mine in your army.

Sincerely,

Saint Benvolio D.Sailboat.

PS: Yeah. My middle name is Danger.

humulos, what can i say? You are one of the friendliest, intellient and funniest person i have ever had the pleasure of meeting. When i see one of your posts -no matter which forum it's in - i always open the thread to see it. You will be sorely missed. I admire the fact that you will leave for 2 years to do a completely selfless and amazing thing. I wish you good luck. I only wish i had joined ZU earlier so that i could have had the oppurtunity to get to know you better. I will be here when you come back, i promise you. I'm so happy that i managed to join your army, i wear your banner with pride. Good luck, Brent.

I remember my Induction into the Humulos Army: "Now that was rather cordial of you. Aye soldier, do rise, as you are in the presence of a just and equal court. Are are speedily welcomed, and do look forward to your service." as in all things, Humulos poured out his enthusiasm entirely. there will be many dull moments in his abscence, and we will all surely miss him greatly. I would like to wish him good luck on his mission. Eventhough he will be leaving soon he continues to give his full effort at ZU. I am in admiration of his devotion and am proud to be his Vassal. I will continue to serve the will of my lord even in his abscence. Farewell, O, Humulos.

Humulos, I never really got to know you. But the fact that you will be out there spreading gods word is amazing, That anyone can have that much Devotion to the lord.

Good Luck

Adventurer:

Humulos,

I think the first thing I remember about you was the time we were arguing in the Zelda boards about Master Quest and Ura Zelda but in the end it turned out we knew the same things. Now, we're friends and I'm now a part of the awesome Humulation army! I hope you have a great time on your Mission serving God. It'll be a life-changing experience for you. Peace out, my fellow Tales fan. Hopefully see you here in 2 years.

Vaati:

I first heard of your "army" from Sailboat in the Nayru Clan. I knew of your before, mostly your part in debating in the Serious Business thread. You seemed like a cool guy and I wanted to be in your rotating signature.

You're doing a great thing. I sure know I couldn't take two years away on a mission for any reason. I hope you have a great time and arrive home safely. I may or may not be here in two years to hail your return. But if I am, I'll be sure to pop in and see what's been going on.

Good luck, humulos. Enjoy your mission!

twilightMirror:
i haven't know him long but he's a good person and i wish him the best of luck *cheers smiley I couldn't include because of the image/smiley limit per post*

humulos, you were one of the main reasons I joined this forum. While lurking, I saw posts by Hylian Dan, Hombre de Mundo, and you and thought that this was the kind of forum I needed to join. It's been a great time and I'm glad I joined. I just want to say that you're an awesome guy and it's been great having someone like you around. You're always respectful, kind, and of course controversial in your own way
LONG LIVE THE HUMULATION ARMY.
I'll be praying for you while you're gone. I hope to debate alongside you again someday :]

he is really brave though and has a great ambition... such a great guy
And with that last quote from efo, I, the people who have contributed so much to this awesome thread and ZU itself want to wish you, Brent, an awesome time on your mission. And when you get back, we shall have made this a better place even so that in the time of your return, it shall look like the heaven you've served for two years

Cheesy ending FTW!

So on behalf of all of us:

Ciao!
