Segment #001 - Evil King's Debut?! Team Rocket's Offer

James stood with sweaty hands at his hips. He was smiling, but it was a bluff. All nerves then, hidden under a cool poker face. He was waiting as patiently as he could for his new business to make a decision. He straightened out the wrinkles on his Team Rocket uniform, breaking the crease in the center of the R.

“Sir--”

“Silence!” the monarch said. The red bar of light on his visor spiked angrily. “I will not be taken for a fool, and the wise make no haste. Let me see the creature again.” He eyed the criminal's poke'ball expectantly. It released its contents once again, and the light from within it solidified into a small red dragon with an oddly shaped skull.

“Charmeleon,” James said. “As I said, I'll sell you several of these if the price is right.” He almost stuttered that last word, but caught himself. He would not show weakness. When a man can dust you with one swing of the blade, confidence is a must --a charade-- but a must. He was mulling over his next car-salesman tactic when he saw a wave of people eclipse the street to his left.

“Hm? This...Is not your doing. Are you familiar with any regional militia mobilizations or civil wars here?” Saiko crossed his arms, his spiked armor crackling a little on contact with itself. The question was secretly a taunt. He knew that Rocket Team or whatever the byte they called themselves knew NOTHING. Inside his digital armor, the Digital King was choked with amusement as he noticed how their handheld intel on the area, let alone planet Jaskell, was absolutely blank. No satellite feed, no map data, nothing. All alone. Behind his back, Saiko gleefully cracked his knuckles.

The crowd, who had taken their sweet time arriving, were not carrying pitchforks. Instead, they gaped at the two as if they were opposing gunslingers preparing to pierce each other in a gunmetal blaze. These observers looked as if they had lived under rocks for thousands of years, and now, this casual interacton was the pinnacle of their existence, the highpoint of their simple lives in the rural countryside.

“Privacy is a rarity of the digital age, I agree, but these people have quite some time before they reach any semblance of THAT, don't you agree, James?”

“I'm surprised they're even humanoids. There's nothing in our...comprehensive reports that detailed the life-forms in this world,” James said, not noticing the delay in his speech or Saiko's silent laugh in its wake.

I know Rookie level monsters with more insight...Saiko's amusement with the situation flaked away like windblown frost. The digital ruler turned scornfully to their audience and lunged at them like a devil.

“HWAAAAH!! KONNICHIWA!” Upon landing, he ripped off one of his spiked sleeves and flexed his bare muscles, and looked flatly at the ground. His visor's red bar was just calming from his last shriek as he howled yet again. His digivice hummed as his uploaded Gong Fu program loaded, causing his arms and legs to move in an artistic and yet totally heterosexual show of body control. A giant explosion of pink light followed each move of his hands. Thousands of miles away, the flashes were as clear as daylight.

The citizens of Stupid Town ran soon after, understandably to James. Something about the fireworks scared him. “I've never felt a power like this before,” he murmured, sweat dribbling down his cheek. He hoped the rest of Rocket showed soon, and fast. If he didn't get someone here soon, he had a feeling he wouldn't live to be pissed off about it. It was hard enough that they were a world away from the land of Poke'mon, but being separated even further was practically suffocating. It was like being born again. He knew nothing. He understood nothing.

And he dreaded giving this man the Poke'mon, no matter how much he loved money. He didn't think even he could fathom what dark intentions might be hidden behind that ridiculously unnecessary mask.
