Age: Around 19 years in age.

Race: Humanoid, but not quite human.

Gender: Male.

Hair: A messy gray mop that covers his ears and forehead.

Eyes: Gray, like everything else.

Weight: Around 180 lbs.

Height: Just barely above six feet.

Weapons: Psychizo, the soul cleaver. Psychizo is a mystic longsword made from an unusual greenish-black metal. The sharp edges of the blade are not straight, but rather slightly wavy, and there is a long thin crack running down the very center of the blade. The sword occasionally seems to glimmer or glow an emerald green color; which is sometimes more prominent than usual. The mysterious metal that the blade (including the hilt) is made from is virtually unbreakable, and cannot melt; in fact, it would probably survive being covered in lava or run over by a train without even denting or chipping.

Psychizo is imbued with a dark magic curse. The curse caused Kartaikian to have his soul split into pieces, forcing him to live a year of his life as two people. He spent much of that year on a quest to conquer the curse and restore himself, and in doing so he gained the ability to divide himself at will.

After about a year of being able to become two people whenever he felt like it, he discovered that the blade's magic was much more powerful than that, and he was able to unlock its hidden power with the help of his father.

Part of those hidden powers include the blade Essence, described under Techniques/Magic.

He also carries around his composite recurve bow, and several steel tipped barbed arrows, fletched with gray feathers. Along with that, he usually has a couple knives or daggers, and a small axe for cutting wood.

Armor: Kartaikian wears a hauberk of blackened steel chainmail over tough, yet flexible, black leather armor, and under his outer clothing. He also has a small round shield, made from wood to be light enough to carry, but plated in steel for protection. The metal covering the shield is mostly black, except for a shiny steel rhombus (diamond-shape) in the middle. In the very center of the shield is a very sharp steel spike.

Strengths: Kartaikian is exceptionally skilled in swordplay and archery, and can do both just as well from horseback or while cloned. As a skilled adventurer, Kartaikian can live in the wild, and can last several days without food. He can run fast, jump high, scale walls, climb trees, and such things that come from having strong legs and arms. He also has great endurance. He is strong-minded and strong-willed, afraid of almost nothing, not even his own death, and will not stop until he reaches his goal. He also has trained his horse very well, and can trust it to alert him of danger and sometimes even aid him in battle.

Some strengths are different for the different entities of Kartaikian. Black is stronger in Dark and Fire magic, White is stronger in Light and Healing magic, and Gray is stronger in the harder magics, Ice and Electricity. Black has a higher tolerance for pain, but a lower tolerance for failure; White has a lower tolerance for pain, but knows when to stand down; and Gray has little motivation for one side or another.

Weaknesses: Kartaikian is not very empathetic and cannot sense the feelings and emotions of people around him, unless they're very strong. He doesn't like to take advice, because he values his own opinion far more than anyone else's and he doesn't trust other people unless he knows them very well. He tends to get frustrated when he can't do something, or has trouble solving a problem. Sometimes he'll rush into action before taking the time to think about it, which occasionally leads to trouble. The many things he carries on his back weigh him down and limit his agility and speed, so a lot of the time he'll have his horse carry them, where they won't be immediately within his grasp. Kartaikian is not very good at Ice and Electric magic, and they drain the most energy from him.

Some weaknesses are different for the different entities of Kartaikian. Black is weaker to Light and Water/Ice magic, White is weaker to Dark and Electricity magic, and Gray is weaker to Fire magic. Black acts more irrationally and spontaneously; White thinks things through more, but hesitates longer; and Gray has a tendency to act only when necessary.

Techniques/Magic: The dark magic and hidden power in Psychizo grants him several interesting magic techniques.

/Soul Split: Originally the curse of the mystic blade, soul splitting is the ability to divide Kartaikian's soul (and technically his body as well) into multiple entities. The multiple entities share the same mind but can be controlled separately. Initially, Kartaikian could only divide into two entities, but having fully harnessed the blade's power he is able to divide into three entities. Unlike before, the entities are now more unique, instead of being perfectly alike. The Black entity takes on Kartaikian's negative personality, things such as his hate and anger, antipathy and sadness. The Black entity is right-handed, and uses the right half of Psychizo. The White entity takes on Kartaikian's positive personality, things such as love and compassion, kindness and happiness. It is left-handed, and uses the left half of Psychizo. The Gray entity has no emotion at all, and is ambidextrous, like Stormcloud. He uses a weapon called Essence, which is the core element of Psychizo's magic.

Although Kartaikian has mastered the curse himself, he isn't quite sure what would happen if someone else were to grab the hilt of the blade. For all he knows it could further curse anyone who did, and thus he makes sure that it is only himself who uses his sword.

//Essence- Essence is a long, thin, straight, green-colored sword; the prime element of Psychizo's magic. With it, Kartaikian Gray can directly attack spirits. Using this on a person would have the effect of causing very serious pain. Used enough, it can knock unconscious or kill; although, being a blade, it could do that anyway. It can spiritually attack the immaterial, including ghosts and demons, or people who have somehow become otherwise untouchable.

/Soul-Search: Kartaikian can use Psychizo to sense and even interact with souls and spirits around him. If he uses this, he can even detect people who are otherwise invisible and undetectable. He can also use this to detect spirits and ghosts, or even demons. If he concentrates on a single spirit he can examine it and sense certain things about it, such as if they're adept in magic, good or evil at heart, or any strong feelings they might be having, such as love, rage, or tragedy. He can even communicate to a person's soul, allowing him to speak mentally with people. He cannot read thoughts, but if someone thinks strongly toward him he can hear it. This skill is only available when Psychizo is in one piece.

/Energy Drain: Whenever the energy supply in Psychizo is less than usual, it will automatically drain any sort of energy from around it. It will drain magical energy, light energy, heat energy, electric energy, et cetera. Even if the blade is at its normal energy level, Kartaikian can force it to drain even more energy, should he need to do so for some reason, such as dispelling a magical barrier or absorbing a magical attack. This will overcharge the blade, which will begin to leak the excess energy in the form of a dark shadowy haze. When draining energy, the green glow of the blade will undulate from tip to hilt. If the blade is overcharged with energy the glow is somewhat bright, if it is empty the blade is almost a solid black color and doesn't glow at all.

/Wizardry: Kartaikian can manipulate Psychizo's magic in a form of wizardry, allowing him to cast magic. Rather than having special "spells" that he can cast, or "elements" that he can control, his magic works by converting the magical energy in his sword into other forms of energy. It is only limited by his skill and his imagination; beyond that there are no defined limits to what he can do with the magic. It should be noted that all his magic takes on a green hue, and is easiest to control when directed through and with his sword. The main things he can do with magic are as listed below.

//Force- The standard form of magic, it simply involves converting magical energy into force, or kinetic energy. Being the easiest magic to perform, Kartaikian is well skilled at it, moreso than the other types of magic. It can be used to form barriers, or in a more offensive fashion. Although kinetic energy doesn't generally give off light, this magical form of force is generally colored green.

//Fire- By converting magical energy into heat energy, Kartaikian can cast fire attacks (or just heat, if he wants too.) He can cast as much fire as he has energy in the blade to convert into heat. Kartaikian Black is especially adept at this type of magic.

//Ice- Ice is a complicated magical skill, since he doesn't have elemental control over water. It took him a while to figure out, and he isn't exactly masterful at it. It involves compressing nearby water (including water vapor in the air) and taking the energy out of it. Of the three entities, Kartaikian Gray is the most skilled in this type of magic.

//Electricity- This is a rather simple, yet powerful magic. It simply involves converting magical energy directly into electrons, and passing them through the air at a target. It takes a lot of energy to cast, and Kartaikian finds it very hard to control. In theory, he should be able to magnetize iron with this ability. Kartaikian Gray is especially adept in this type.

//Other magics- Other magics, as mentioned, are only limited by his skill and his imagination. He can turn magical energy directly into photons, hence light, or he can convert it into kinetic energy and push or break things. He can also convert it into sonic energy, and make loud noises. A special magic worth mentioning is healing magic. Kartaikian White is especially adept in light magic, and healing magic. Another special other magic of note is dark/shadow magic, which involves using magical energy to direct light away from an area. Kartaikian Black is especially skilled in dark magic.

Appearance: Gray is sort of Kartaikian's theme color. His hair and eyes are gray, and along with that almost all his clothing is gray as well, his tunic, cloak, and trousers. He also wears leather gloves, boots, belt, and backpack; all colored black. On his back he usually carries his bow and quiver, and on his left at his belt he carries Psychizo, in its black metal scabbard. His ears are slightly pointed, as is normal for his kind, and he is fairly tall and thin.

Kartaikian White looks exactly the same, except that his hair and clothing is gray. Kartaikian Black looks the same as well, except...of course...his hair and clothes are black.

His horse, which goes by the name Tempest, is also colored gray. He stands fairly tall, and can run quite fast and for a pretty long time.

Personality: Kartaikian does a good job hiding his emotions, and hence appears to be emotionless, even though he isn't. This makes it hard for people to tell what he's thinking. He isn't empathetic, and can't read the emotions of other people. He tends to act cold and unfriendly, and doesn't trust other people at all; although he is good at heart. Although usually he doesn't care about anything that doesn't immediately effect him, he cannot stand for evil and will put a stop to any sort of mistreatment or unreasonable harm to other people. He is a loner, and travels the world with only his horse for a friend. He doesn't like to talk about his past, his feelings, or what he's thinking about; and in fact, doesn't usually talk much at all. He tends to avoid people when he can; he's seen the evil that people are capable of, and feels that no one is completely good at heart. He prefers to be alone, and avoid teamwork unless it is absolutely necessary or unable to be avoided.

A long while ago, back when Kartaikian was only about fifteen years old, someone (or something?) burned down Kartaikian's hometown with a single flaming arrow, killing most of his friends, and his grandfather. His grandfather had been his closest and only real relative, a better father to Kartaikian than his real father. His real father hardly ever spent any time with him, having simply named his son and then leaving him with his grandfather. He did this for Kartaikian's own protection, though Kartaikian did not know this at the time.

After the arson, Kartaikian was left with nowhere to live and no one to run too, so he simply gathered what little he owned and ran off into the wilderness. He long explored the world, never really settling anywhere for long. On his first real quest he found the ruins of an ancient civilization, and was led by a mysterious demon to a powerful artifact. Kartaikian had run into his father, and was warned by him to leave the artifact where it was, but the advice was ignored. At the moment Kartaikian touched the cursed longsword, he was divided into two people. For a long time he was stuck like this, and he got used to it.

One day however, through a quest yet written, Kartaikian set out on a quest to conquer the curse. Having conquered the curse, he was able to use it at will. Thus he could rend himself into two people at any random moment that he so wished.

The demon who led Kartaikian to the curse has followed him ever since, and was the one who caused the fire to his village. In fact, he was what Kartaikian's father was trying to protect Kartaikian from by leaving him. The demon had been haunting Kartaikian's father, and killed Kartaikian's mother, and he was afraid that the demon would kill Kartaikian as well.

The demon calls himself Tragedy, and he feeds off of emotions such as sadness, anguish, and tragedy due to things like deep loss, such the death of a loved one, especially by one's own mistakes. Sometimes he causes these feelings and losses, and sometimes he just causes people to remember things that happened to them before so that they dwell on those feelings. He normally hides in the shadows, in an invisible spirit form, but occasionally he'll take physical form, in which he appears as a man with black hair and orange eyes or, even less often, as a large black beast.

In a quest to destroy Tragedy for revenge, Kartaikain unleashed the hidden power inside Psychizo, and was able to ward off Tragedy with the power of Essence, but he was unable to destroy him completely...


This is an update for my main character, Kartaikian Stormcloud. I'd like it approved soon, so I can use him in the tournament.
