Hey guys! Thanks for all the feedback! It's the best response I've ever had in this section, so I'm moving forward! This next chaoter introduces two new characters
, so I hope you like them!
Danny opened his eyes, glaring at the ceiling. Already, throughout the forest, people had begun to start their days. Danny was just frustrated at them, all of them, for not letting him sleep in. Ever.
Throwing the covers off his body, he parted his long blonde hair out his eyes and strapped on his leather boots. Belt being fed through the slots at the waist of his tunic, Danny grabbed his small wallet and fastened it to his side. It was time to start another bring day.
Stepping outside, Danny blinked stupidly. The sun was bright, but the laughter was almost unbearable. Why he was the only Kokiri who hated the forest was unknown to him, but his moody arrogance had certainly driven his fairy away, years ago. He was truly alone.
Danny climbed down the ladder, and jumped down the last few rungs, hitting the soft earth lightly. A Kokiri strutted up to him, pushing his had up straight.
“I need you to move all the rocks in front of Saria’s house today,” Mido told Danny. Danny had to stop himself from laughing at the Kokiri leader’s hat, because there was no way any of them would force one on his head.
“Did you hear me?”
“Huh?” Danny asked, losing track for a second. Mido swelled with anger, and Danny at least got some satisfaction out of saying. “Right. The rocks. No can do, Mido, because I have to go make a sword today.”
It was Mido’s turn to laugh, which he did without a thought on it. “A sword, you loser? Honestly? What- you think you’re going to become a big warrior or something? Face it, pal. You’ll never even hit four feet. And they don’t make armor to fit imps like you.”
“You’re just as short as me!” Danny cried out, barring his teeth.
“No,” Mido corrected him. “You’re really, really short. It’s okay, Danny. Maybe someday you’ll become a Kokiri like the rest of us, and stop being a moody little imp.”
“I swear to Gods,” Danny muttered, but Mido had left, attempting to strike up a conversation with Saria, who was passing by.
Danny pushed Mido’s bullying to the back of his head, and focused on the sword. That man had come the previous night, and he told the Kokiri about some “unfolding war”. He said his name was Rusl, from Ordon Village, but Danny had certainly never heard of Ordon before. But if there was to be a war, Danny was sure that he’d be fighting in it. So it was best that he should prepare himself and let the swordless idiots, preferably Mido, die at the hand of those who Danny would kill shortly afterwards.
Danny grabbed his Deku Shield from his lawn, where he had left it, and couldn’t help but being slightly deflated at the sight of it. It was just wood- a simple fire arrow would render it useless. Danny needed a stronger shield, but the steel Hylian shields that were on sale in the market were massive compared to any Kokiri, let alone the smallest one.
Danny walked to the training grounds, realizing that, once again, he’d have to use a simple deku stick to fight off imaginary monsters. Day after day this went on, but Danny was content if it meant that he was one day closer to getting his real sword.
For the first time, however, Danny noticed the hole in the side of the wall. Approaching it, he peered inside, but heard nothing. Looking around, Danny drew breath.
“Strange…” he muttered. “Oh well. Only one thing to do now.”
Getting on all fours, Danny crawled in, and found himself in a small cave. There were many turns, and Danny figured that after a few minutes he might very well be lost. But he was too curious, and too sick of his boring life in Kokiri Forest. War was coming. It was time to be a little more daring.
And with that, Danny broke towards that wall, turned left, and continued into the darkness.

Chris ran to the foot of the castle. The market was chaos, he observed. There were three times as many people there, and the animals were also much more numerous. Dogs and cats, and horses and goats…
“Goats?” Chris pondered. There were never any goats in Hyrule Market. Chris wandered over in their direction, by the stables, and he saw a tall figure step out from the stable, talking to the goats:
“Ready to go on home? Fado’ll be so mad if we don’t make it by nightfall. Epona, come on girl. Epona!”
The boy was slightly older than Chris, possible sixteen or seventeen, and had thick curly hair. He was also dressed in very strange clothes, an attire that included many layers of colorful blankets and whatnot. He turned back into the stable and brought forth a horse- a beautiful mare with a reddish body and a snow white mane.
“Epona, I know you won’t listen to anybody but Link… but let’s face it girl. Link’s dead. You need to be my friend now, okay?”
Chris stared at this boy. He was obviously having trouble, and whoever Fado was would give him a hard time if he was late; he was sure of that. So even though Chris needed to get to Kokiri Forest quickly, wherever that was, he figured that the boy could provide him transportation, and maybe a partnership.
“Hey,” Chris muttered, addressing the boy. He turned suddenly, and smiled warmly.
“Good afternoon. Do you mind helping me-”
“Relax,” Chris told him, stepping forward to take Epona’s reigns. “I’m great with horses.”
“That makes one of us,” the boy said. Chris laughed.
“What’s your name?” he asked the boy.
“Brad. You?”
“Chris. I’m a Hylian Knight.” Brad seemed to be amazed at Chris, looking at him thunderstruck.
“But- but- how old are you?”
“Fifteen.”
“How did you get to be accepted so quickly?”
“I’m friends with the royal family,” Chris explained. “I’ve had a lot of training.”
“That makes one of us, too,” Brad smiled.
“Well, I’ll help you,” Chris told, Brad seriously. “But I need your help in return.”
“Okay. What do you need me to do?”
“Do you know where Kokiri Forest is?”
“Yeah, why?” Brad was looking at Chris strangely, like the request was not something he heard everyday.
“Can you take me there. I need to talk to the Great Deku Tree about this war or whatever.”
“So the war rumors are true? There is a war?”
“That’s what Princess Zelda said. I need to save Hyrule.” Chris was pleased that Brad was not only accepting his strange story, but believing it as well. “I’m apparently the hero or whatever.”
And that’s when Brad started laughing.
