Re: Perfect War, Perfect Deception (OPEN [Rules inside])
“You Emillio J Drake?”
The tall boy arched an eyebrow, looking surprised at the chubby man before him “... Yeeeeeah...”
“Here ya are” The black suited, middle aged man stated, handing the young man a vanilla envelope.
J looked dumbfounded at the man for a second, finally taking the latter and inspecting it over. “... wait...” the brown haired boy looked up again but the messenger was already back about his business, making his way through the crowded streets to whatever he was doing.
This didn’t make any sense to the young man. Never before had he given his full name to anyone in this world. And only a scarce few knew it from his home world. And how had the messenger been able to identify him? J hardly knew anyone in these lands, and no one he did know would contact J in such a manner. Not that he could think of, anyway.
J turned his attention back to the plain letter. There was no writing on it, no stamp, nothing. He tapped the letter with his index finger absentmindedly, looking around at the crowded street, and started walking back to his hotel. Anyone who went out of their way to learn J’s full name had to be someone important... or a stupid advertiser. One of the two.
A few blocks and a staircase latter, the tall young man was back in his hotel room. He tossed his windbreaker on the bed and sat down, peeling the fold the envelope open and dumping out the contents. A plastic, reflective, data page fell into his hand. Well, that was oddly high-tech for what he had seen in this city. It had a simple typed up letter written on its surface, with touch sensitive buttons that you could press to bring you to the next page.
Item of interest: The Hunters Ruby
Reward: $6,000,000,000
J nearly fell out of his seat at the cash reward. He stared at the number for a bit, but there was more to the reward.
You will also be given a staff job in our department, where we will have similar jobs that you will be able to choose from on a constant basis. The rewards will, of course, very from job to job, but we guarantee you, money will be the least of your concerns.
There is a catch, however. We have distributed this letter to a select number of individuals. Whoever, among you, is capable of bringing the precise ruby to our department first will be given the reward and the guaranteed employment. You will find information on the museum in which the ruby is held in this document. You have 48 hours.
This was big news. J always found it extremely hard to find work for himself. And also finding jobs he found expectable. At the moment he was still living off the relatively low reward he had received from his last job... which wasn’t... cool.
He still found it odd that the messenger was able to find him, and knew his full name, but the company certainly seemed to have its resources. While J wasn’t one hundred percent sure about taking the staff job, he definitely could use the six million dollars. Maybe then he’d be able to find out if Roery really was on this planet...
The former soldier pressed the button on the date page that took him to the next page. There was a detailed blueprints of the museum, along with all the information anyone would need t know before robbing it, including various advertisement meetings, tours that were being held, and the exact times the guards changed watch. After skimming over the sheet for a few minutes, it was already apparent exactly when and where he was going to make his move.
Do to various activities and security reasons, the next night at 8:05 was the soonest time for any kind of heist. J figured that was about the time everyone else would start showing up... Sounded kinda fun.
<{~~~~~~~~~O~~~~~~~~~}>
The wait had been excruciating, having nothing really to do but plan, eat, and get some training in with his armor in an abandoned inside parking lot for a few hours. The fact that he spent the majority of his time as a completely regular and normal human, it was sometimes odd activating his armor again, and having so much power. In any case, it was finally time to move.
The guards were changing shifts, the electricians were testing and resetting the systems, the video types were being changed. The whole place was wide open. It almost seemed to be too perfect.
J stole through the shadows, armor on, helmet up, visor down, and black, stealth skin active. The HUD on his visor allowed him to see perfectly in the darkness, as well as pinpointing the location of each and every guard and security device. This was gonna be a cakewalk. The only thing to be concerned about was the other bounty hunters.
The armored man leaned his back against the east, exterior wall. He scanned the area once more before proceeding. Rising his left arm, he silently released his grapple, quickly latching on and flinging himself easily on top of the tall wall. He planted his feet on the inside of the wall and kicked off, latching himself to the fire escape with barely a sound. (All the while, avoiding the security cameras) Scaling the flight of stairs quickly, he made his way to the appropriate window and bent the anti theft bars, “removed” the lock, and slid open the window. He crawled through the opening and shut the window again just before the security system reactivated.
He was inside. Now came the fun part.
OoC: Ha! Keep forgetting to say this... >.> So far, we have me, Puck, Zorolo, King Daphnes, and Masked Legend joining the thread. But we still have one spot open. So join quick before someone else does!
