Fire Vs. Ice (Nekoryuuha)

OoC: I have three threads to start, so I figured start small and work my way up. Since this is just a one on one, I figured I'd start here. Ready, Neko? Cuz I sure am. First time I'm using the new Zachary. Link in sig. ^_^

BiC: Zachary Leos, the now quarter Ice Elemental, walked along the slightly stone lined path. The path had been worn away by years of no repairs and a great deal of travelers passing over it. The once heavily stone lined path now had few pebble, if not but dirt, leading towards where the ice warrior found himself trekking. It had to be near. He knew he was close, somehow.

Where the red haired elemental was heading was a city that had once been inhabbited by non-humans. Essentially a safe haven from the race of humans, demons, monsters, and other creatures gathered there in order to gain their freedom from the possible shackles humans may have put on them. Even though Zachary was mostly human, he felt an odd kinship with these people, and wished to examine how they lived, if only for sentimental reasons.

The part of Zachary that wasn't human, the part of him that wasn't wholly real, yet not artificial either, gave him a strange feeling of displacement. Maybe understanding how people that may have been like himself lived would help him console the break between his non-human part and his human majority. Of all else, Zachary wanted to feel as though he belonged, both with hmself and with someone, anyone, else.

Sure, there was Zorlo, but Zorlo was more of a brother to the young ice innate then a friend. More than anything, the red haired boy was searching for his place in the world. A place that he had slightly lost when he had killed Magnus. Sure, freedom had been gained, but the sense of belonging had faded. The sense that killing Zorlo was life was gone, and a void was left in the place of that. The only thing that could have filled it only made the pain worse with the reality of life.

Zachary's place in the world, however, as a warrior still stood. After finally leaving the Dome for a little while, he had found out that he was an accomplice of the Aura Master's. Unlike Zorlo, whose title as a bounty was "Green Hair" Zorlo, Zachary had a much more fitting, in his opinion, title: Zachary Leos, "The Avenger." Those who had seen him in combat had recalled what he referred to himself as, and apparently had given him that title. Well, at least people knew who he was now.

As his feet brushed against the ground, the innate rested his left hand on the pommel of Mobius and followed the path silently. Structures began to appear in the distance. He was almost there, and without incidence. Then again, he wasn't a blatant non-human, which the hunters of this area were looking for, but instead, he was very human in appearance. An archeologist some would have guessed, even though that wasn't it. Still, almost there. Almost to, hopefully, some form of truth.

OoC: Not a great opening, but hopefully it'll get better as I get back in character with Zachary. Sorry. ^_^;;
