As for the show's future, here's the deal: There are still two episodes that were filmed that haven't been shown, for one reason or another. The studio asked Bill Lawrence, the creator of the show, to rewrite the last of those two as the series finale, to which Lawrence refused. He's gone on record numerous times saying that he refuses deprive the fans of a proper finale, even if it means he just has all the actors read their character's lines in a conference call and record it, or just releasing the scripts for the final episodes online, once they are written. He knows that it was a solid loyal fanbase that kept the show in the air during its shakey start, and he wants to repay them.
However, the likelihood of seeing a proper filmed finale is getting less likely with each day the strike continues. The actor's contracts are running out, and the studio is definately not going to reknew them just to film less than half a season. It sucks, and as a fan since the beginning it certainly is not the way I want one of my favourite shows to end, but at the end of the day sacrifices have to made if the writer's are going to get what they deserve.

Are you serious?
Why don't you guys just give in and give them the money thery're asking for.. I mean I guess that'll be unlogical considering they'll do it again in the near future, but if it's for Scrubs... It's worth every penny.
