Re: (ZGen/Fan) Link's Shadow (t)

I am in the mood for writing, in fact, I'll put up THREE chapters in one day. I've done two, just one more!

CHAPTER 4: The wild-goose chase

Link and Zelda along with the maskman went off. Night was approaching, and it would take them at least a week to reach the Zora's Domain far away in the east.

They were walking through a patch of woods, when an arrow whizzed passed Link's head. He quickly drew his sword. Another arrow just missed his foot." RUN! “He shouted loudly. The three took off. Link running ahead, he continued to dodge arrows.

He continued to run, for what felt like hours, though really just a few minutes, before he exited the path of trees. His partners later caught up. They had wandered to an old stone temple.

The three cautiously walked in. Link accidentally knocking over a pot, leapt back as blue smoke lifted through the air. Bats with sharp wings fell down at them, all three dodged. They ran through the large hall, running from bats, when they entered a small room. There was a door, and then, a small twister (yes, like two foot big) zipped out. Wind picked up, it grew bigger and bigger, before a large Dog, human like warrior with a long neck leapt out. His skin was pale with black spots covering it.

It ran at Zelda, knocking her out cold. The mask man pulled out a rather old mask of a deku scrub, putting it on, he transformed into a scrub. He began popping seeds at the creature, who was temporarily stunned. Link leapt up, slicing the creature, and then delivering a final stab.

They quickly left the temple, Zelda waking up later. Now, with that over, they continued to walk. Eventually, another arrow whizzed by.

Link drew his sword again," Robbers! Ho! Thieves! Help! Robbers! Ho!" before they could run, another arrow shot by and three men on horse back rode up. Each one of them had swords. Later, a few archers caught up with them.

"Halt!" said a man on horse back, who was the leader. His shield was painted red, and his armor was red. He had a black shirt underneath his chest plate, and had black pants, and black boots. His horse was white with black spots though.

"What do you want?" Zelda asked, drawing a dagger.

"Hand over your money, and supplies, please." said another knight.

"Why," began Link," knights protect the poor, defend the castle, go to war, not steal! You are a disgrace!"

"No, no I'm not, the castle is gone, and Kakiriko was raided. We have every-right to steal from people to stay alive, now." Said the leader.

"Yeah!" the third knight added.

Link glared at them;" Fine..."he tossed two blue rupees and a green rupee at him,” All I've got..."

"You're merchant friend for certain has more?” Link saw him ride over the salesman, and he knew his chance was right; he had to go find help. He quickly started to run across the field, as fast as he could.

A few shouts were heard, and an arrow flew passed Link's right arm. Link ran quicker, running to a patch of five trees, which blocked a few arrows. He continued to run, all until the shouting stopped.

A day later, Link wandered into a ranch. Many barracks filled the outside of the ranch itself, and soldiers cared for their horses and knights walked around and talked. Horses and cows grazed in the fields.

Link looked all around frantically, before entering a large house. He walked upstairs into an office where a farmer and a few generals were taking.

“What is it boy? We have no time for games!" The general said.

“But I and my friends were attacked by robbers! They took them into the woods!"

“The Lost Woods?” questioned the farmer.

“No, just a small patch of trees in the middle of Hyrule field, a few miles west of here. "

“Well," began one of the generals," We shall load up some knights, and get your friends back, if you wait here."

Link nodded," Please..."

The general left, and Link was given a tent to sleep in. For three days, he stayed at the ranch, which was called 'Lon Lon Ranch'. He met a girl his age, Malon, who started to teach him how to ride a horse, Epona.

Suddenly a horn sounded off. Knights rode up. And followed by two people. The maskman and Zelda.

While Zelda continued to be adored by all the knights and guarded, and the maskman tried selling his masks, Link still tried riding Epona. Malon had taught him a song the horse adored and came to.

When it came time to leave, Link said good-bye to Malon, and he rode off. Zelda and the Maskman would stay behind.

And not too much later, in less than a day, Link arrived at Lake Hylia. He rode into the area, the large lake stretching across the land. Guards walked about, and barracks were set up everywhere, along with a few stables. A few fishing boats were coming in from a day of good fishing. Link saddled Epona at a public stable. He was told to go no further.

He'd have to sneak.
