Re: Midnight Showdown (MrRandom, avyuir, Radkin_Blade?)

Falenor walked out of the giant library with a book in his hand. He'd been referred to this library as one of the best in the world, and he wasn't disappointed; there was information here that even the Internet couldn't locate. The book was entitled "The other sentient races of the Universe", and had actually been buried at the back of the library. Literally. Just stuck underground in a plastic case in some dark corner of the massive building. There were very few copies in existence, and they were all hidden in some fashion so the public wouldn't find them.

But it's easy when you know where to look, he thought, and it's easy to find that out with abilities such as mine.

It had still been a difficult task though. The library was like a maze in some respects, and he suspected that this might have been intentional, for the book just happened to be at the end of it. The shelves were aligned normally for the most part, but started crossing themselves in funny ways as you got closer to the book's location. And they got dustier, as if no-one bothered to go there anymore. In fact, walking towards the book almost felt like walking back through time; the shelves and got progressively older-looking, and the floor slowly changed from polished marble to varnished wood to, eventually, just dirt, which of course was where the book had been buried.

He carried the book under his cloak so people wouldn't see it and headed toward Times Square. He hoped he wouldn't be late for the friendly battle he'd agreed to join with that Zora. The Zora hadn't said too much about himself, which was why he went looking for the book : know your enemy as they always say. He walked into the square at a few minutes past midnight and saw the Zora and another human standing nearby. He walked over and suggested they sit down on a nearby park bench and wait for the other combatants.

"Sorry I'm a bit late, but I had to go pick this up," he said as he pulled the book out and showed it to the Zora. He opened the book to page 42; there was an entry on Zoras there with a brief history of the race, their abilities in general, and a couple of other vital and interesting facts. After reading this through, he gave the book to Rethir so he could browse through it, telling him to give it to Radkin once he was done with it.

With that, he turned away and looked off into the distance, trying to see if the others were coming. He looked around the square, also; it looked perfectly normal, despite the Zora sitting next to him. He suddenly realized something and turned back to Rethir and Radkin.

"I don't think we should hold the battle in the Square...apart from weirding out the locals, police might show up. So where do you suggest we hold the battle once everyone arrives?"

OoC : How was that? Also, let's not go too far until avyuir has had a chance to post.
