Re: The Darkest Crystals / Oblivivion Kings

The next day, Karpov left the inn, paying the man what money he had left, working off the rest with odd jobs. Its been so long since I’ve had to do an honest days work. Maybe I’ll do a few tricks in the main lobby for these, Rupees. Karpov stepped over a man who was lying in the street. They sound so much like the ruples from back home. Well, I better get this guy off my tail before I do.

Karpov stepped into an alley, sitting down on a stool, his back to the street. If I don’t scare him away, maybe I can make a grab. Just as he thought the stranger stepped into the alley, but the mental frequency was different from the other humanoids around, the ones with pointed ears. They had called him Gerudo, but what that meant, he wasn’t sure, though everyone seemed to hate them.

Karpov used his psionic to mentally paralyze the person, and upon hearing a thunk, turned around. He stepped toward the creature, keeping his concentration up. He noticed the large thing on the back of his followers head. Cute. A cloak with a fish tail. And here I thought only Japan had such strange clothing options. Karpov grabbed at the tail-hood thing, letting his concentration go at the same time.

“Aieee! Let go of my tail!” The scream the stranger let out was easily ignored, but the electric shock that hit him was immense. Karpov was pushed back into the wall by the blast of energy, hurting himself and putting a dent in the bricks.

“What the hell was that for?! Ow ow ow. . . .” The thing stood up, and Karpov’s gave followed, eyes becoming wider with every inch of movement from his head. What the. . . A fish? On a mans body? What creature is this? Karpov stood up, drawing his hammer from behind him.

“What are you and why are you following me?” Karpov readied his hammer incase of retaliation from the creature.

“Why the hell would you grab my fin! You would think that a person would know what is attached to a Zora.” The creature still held his tail in pain, looking a bit pathetic in a way, but Karpov did not let down his guard.

Karpov noticed the stares they were getting from the people in the street, and decided they needed a little privacy.

“Why were you following me?” Karpov spoke to the fish-creature by thought, but did not get a response. He remembered how the mental frequency was different, and tried several frequencies before the creature looked up in surprise.

“You’re in my thoughts?” He looked toward Karpov with a quizzical look and stepped toward him.

“Whoa, stay back or I’ll paralyze you again. Now, answer me! Why were you following me?” The fish closed his eyes and thought for a moment, which poured themselves into Karpov’s mind and he closed the link.

“You can speak now.” Karpov looked toward the creature, trying not to smile when the thoughts of the creature had turned to more, non-elegant things before he had disconnected.

“You peaked my interest. You seem to have a different sense about you. Your somehow different from other humans.”

“You mean my ears?”

“No, something else entirely. I just can’t put my fin on it.” The creature rubbed his chin.

“You called yourself ‘Zora’ earlier. Is that your name or species?”

“I am a Zora, but my name is Rethir.”

“Well, Rethir, it seems our roles have been exchanged. I’ll tell you all about my self if you tell me about you.” Karpov put away his hammer and pointed a finger at Rethir.

“Done, but maybe we should go somewhere a little bit more moist. Looking like a fish isn’t just a fashion statement.”

(OoC: Just for the record, I don't know if Ruples is correct for money in Russia. If it isn't, tell me. By the way, He's russian, from this world, but we are in HYRULE. Just a reminder.
