Good evening everyone. Tonight, I inform you all of the wonderful news that I have managed to find employment. Yesterday I went in for an interview at a local newspaper in my town. I have been offered a job at writing a short-story series for the newspaper, which officially makes me a published, paid writer! I am going to submit to them a 400 word one-shot and, if they like it, they will agree to publish my material in an ongoing series. The current name of this series is
Vigilante, but that might change. Obviously I cannot write my Chronos short-stories in such a tiny amount of words...
Here are the basic character format and ideas for this new series. Let me know what you think.
Quote:
Characters
- Ash: The protagonist, Ash is assaulted in the beginning of the story, only to be rescued by the character Vigilante. The story revolves around her search for Vigilante, and describes her antics. Ash reflects those obsessed with celebrities, going as far as to trying to stalk Vigilante.
- Gin: A dorm attendant at the college, Gin is the voice of reason around the story. She serves to show the mindset of those who are disgusted about others' obsessions with celebrities.
- Logan: A lazy slacker who does nothing but sleep. Logan serves to portray the ignorant mindset of people who are unaware of the influences of famous people. He likes Ash, but is much too shy to do anything about it. However, he does seem to maintain a consoling relationship with Gin.
- Link: An athletic star, who seems to vanish every single time Vigilante emerges. It is unknown where he goes to, but he claims he has practice. He dislikes Vigilante, and in fact almost fears him, as he questions the morality of letting a common citizen take justice into their own hands. He reflects the mindset of people who dislike celebrities, yet cannot help talk about them.
- Fred: The antithesis character, Fred serves to display society's urges to copy and emulate others in the limelight. Fred also serves as the primary antagonist throughout the story, and continues to show more and more signs of imitating Vigilante. He also obsesses over Ash.
- Vigilante: The hero of the story. Vigilante is a person who has never quite been seen, so it's never determined what powers he has or even who he is. However, he serves as the driving force behind the story. Rather then focusing around him, however, the story focuses around the other characters' reactions to him.
