3:10 to Yuma
I intended on seeing this in the theaters when it came out, but for some reason I never got around to it. The other night I picked it up from Blockbuster, since I had no school this week, and I was able to watch it one morning.
Man am I pissed that I waited so long.
I haven't seen too many Westerns, but this was hands down one of the best movies I've seen in years. I'm literally inspired to work on my own kind of Western stories now, or read some stuff of Louis L'Amour, because that film was simply fantastic. I can't believe how the characters were so traditional, yet at the same time so damn compelling. I hated Charlie Prince's guts, I was beyond relieved to see William Evans turn out to be a tolerable teen, I wanted to see Dan Evans succeed more than anything, and boy was I was captivated by Ben Wade's devious charisma. The cast characters was simply stellar, and the movie's theme of what was good or evil always made you think.
Anyone else floored by it?
