A Dark poem (I'm not Emo, for those who think so!)
This is one poem that I wrote about how I feel sometimes. I'm not emo, so don't call me that. The title is darkness. A few other poems will come at a later date. Also, I've wanted to post this for some time now.
"Darkness"
Darkness is a virtue.
It covers our mistakes and our differences.
Even when we don't make a mistake darkness is there to help us.
Darkness knows everything.
It knows how long,
How small,
How tall everything is.
Darkness is tiredness.
It shows itself on our faces at day.
It controls us at night.
Even in light there is darkness.
If you look at a picture taken in light,
There's darkness staring at you.
Darkness surrounds us all.
Even the most joyous and helpful person is covered in darkness.
Nothing is without darkness.
It shows itself everywhere you turn.
Dark corners,
Dark faces,
Dark emotions.
Even if a brave soul looks at the sun,
There's darkness staring him down.
Our voices are just darkness' hold over us.
It controls our thoughts,
Our memories,
Our lives.
The smallest object is shrouded in the unending darkness.
It consumes everything in its path.
Everything but...
Other darkness.
It fears itself too much. Nothing but darkness can defeat darkness.
Even the Lord cannot defeat the undenying blackness surrounding Him.
It is unbeatable.
We fight a losing battle when attacking darkness.
It stares at us with a glare to kill.
Darkness is our anger,
Our other side.
When released,
Darkness recoils and lashes out,
Surrounding the victim.
What is darkness you ask?
It's your fears,
Your lies,
And most importantly...
You.
It's a tad long but it got published in my team's parent newsletter! Hope you like!
