Chapter 1 - Preparing for the Voyage

Chapter 1 - Preparing for the Voyage

Reira tightened the knot that tied shut the bag of food. Galloping from two sets of hooves grew stronger. Reira skipped outside, Troy slowed the horses to a halt and got off. Nayru and Farore seemed excited, the atmosphere of the morning was adventurous. Reira was very serious the night before about importance of this trip, but now it was exciting. She had never been to Hyrule Castle before. The night before Troy rode off to Lon Lon Ranch to get Nayru for the trip. "Hey, everything packed?" Troy's smiled certainly lighten the morning even more. They worked together, packing food and clothes onto the horses. It wasn't a long trip, but the nights get cold Reira didn't want to have a fever when she presented the book to the royal family.

"Troy, the sun isn't completely up. Maybe we could kill some time by reading out of Nayru's Book?" Troy was startled at this suggestion. "We're allowed?" he said dumbstruken. Reira gave a sympathetical smile. "Of course we're allowed, my dad wrote it!" Troy smiled from embarrassment. "You know me, always cautious. But with how much you've packed it seems like the tables have turned." Reira laughed a little,"I thought you'd agree that being prepared is a necessity. Unless you're aiming to be slaughtered by bullbin." Troy made a gesture of agreement. "They kidnap more then kill. What they'd want with a thousand prisioners the goddesses know." Reira made a brusk movement as she firmly tied a package to Nayru, who was older and could carry a bigger load. Troy then came over and adjusted the saddle. "But really, we can read out of the book?" Reira took a break from her work and smiled in a disappointed way for a joke. "Yes, lets sit down a read a bit while the horses drink" She took a seat and pulled out Nayru's Book. She flipped a few pages and lightly scanned as she went along. "Here we go!"

"While creating the world, the goddesses made their own sanctuary which all three are in Hyrule. This is why their ancient power sleep in Hyrule, the power of the triforce. It is said that Farore created the Forest to the South. Din created the Volcano and its Land to the West. And Nayru created the Lake and its Water complexities to the East. These three lands make a triangle with themselves, for the North is excluded. It is also said that because these three lands are the goddesses' sanctuaries that beings have come to specifically live there. For these sanctuaries are beautiful lands filled with excellent resources. The Gorons, the rock people, have settled in Din's Sanctuary. The Zoras, the fish people, have come to settle in Nayru's Sanctuary. These two proud tribes have lived together for many years. But the last race to settle in Farore's Sanctuary have isolated themselves. The Kokiri have even said to have died out, some theories say that they evolved. Of course, in Hyrule, there are many other races that have settled in the general areas. The desert, fields, skies and cities of Hyrule are filled with races with their own pride."

Reira closed the book. "These are all just legends, myths and theories. We do not actually know if any of it is real. There are also parts filled with just wisdom." Troy looked to the sky. "We should get going. The sun is already high in the sky." They quickly finished packing the horses and set off. This was Reira's first time horseback riding and after awhile of Troy chasing Reira to get her on the path he just tied Nayru to Farore with a rope. "Reira, next time a horse is running loose because you sped them up, don't speed them up even more." Troy joked. "W-w-well I just can't, g-get ahold and--" Troy burst out laughing. Reira just ended the agony with a huge sigh. Believe it or not, but they finally just got through the Hylia Lake path and was in Hyrule field. They stopped to take a break because Reira wasn't used to riding and her pelvis hurt from the bouncing. She spent some time stretching and admiring the mountains. She's lived near the water for so long... Now she sorrounded by a lake of grass and a few trees. She feeling of being dry and hot never sat well with her. But there wasn't a drop of water to be found because the river flowed south and they were heading east. She took a second to think back.

"You've never left the water before, have you?" Reira, who was only 6, walked over to join her Zora father. "No. I've lived near it my entire life." her father smiled. "I found you floating down a river as little more then a newborn. You were actually just about to reach a waterfall. You almost died." Reira eyes were shining. "You must be my guardian! Sent to my by the goddesses!" The innocence of this made the Zora lightly laugh. "It's been a long time since the goddesses fell asleep. Their slumber may be eternal if no one saves them." Reira thought awhile. "We need a hero! Someone brave, and wise and powerful!" Her father stroked her head. "You will find that you don't need to be powerful or wise to be a hero, only brave."

Its been a long time since Reira last spoke to her father, the only thing she has left is her memories of them. Which so often she finds herself reliving them.
