White Pieces (the good guys)

King: King of Hyrule (Well because he already is King....and I forgot his name)
Queen: Princess Zelda (She is an important role in the series and is very powerful)
Bishops: Zoras
Knights: Link (do I really have to explain why? now really?)
Rook: Gorons
All Pawns: Kokiri and Fairies

Black Pieces (the bad guys)

King: Ganondorf (same as Link...do I really have to explain why?)
Queen: Twinrova (she's the only powerful woman in the game...thus far)
Bishops: Gerudos
Knights: Darknut
Rooks: Armos Statues
All Pawns: skull kids and Flamming Keese
